Virginia Auto Dealers Launch All Out Assault On Tesla Motors

The Virginia Automobile Dealers Association has filed a long, convoluted complaint with the state’s Motor Vehicle Dealer Board. It accuses Tesla Motors of committing illegal acts at is authorized dealership but stops just short of charging Tesla with mopery on the high seas. The VADA is calling on state regulators to investigate and sanction Tesla Motors for alleged violations at its existing locations in the state.

The retailer bricks and mortar stores had the same worries about Amazon.com. It is inevitable. They are just causing impediments in the short term, which are bad for our economy and bad for the health of the planet.

They've already declared war on Tesla in Michigan and passed laws prohibiting Tesla from doing any business in the state. That from a pro business run legislature. It goes to show that politicians have deep pockets and the automobile association has a lot of money to give them.

The fossil fuel industry pays the political government officials. The result is monopolistic control in some states.

We are hitting the Tesla issues here in Michigan. We can't even get a single gallery or service center thanks to our "lovely" governor snyder.

What I am more disappointed in is that the FTC came out in both the spring of 2014 and 2015 commenting and urging states to lift these laws but nothing more than talk has happened at the Federal level.
