HW3 with 2019.12.1.2 Lacking Some Features

I have a brand new Model 3 with the FSD option and the 2019.12.1.2 software. I noticed that the “Navigate on Autopilot (Beta)” menu in my car does not have the “Require Lane Change Confirmation” option, or the “Lane Change Notification” option. My friends Model 3, same software version but HW2.5, has these options.

My guess is that it’s because the developers are still working to port some functionality that exists in earlier hardware releases forward to the HW3. Can anyone tell me if that’s correct? If so, do we know what other options haven’t been carried forward to HW3 owners yet?

Thank you

You’re correct. I don’t know what else is missing, but I’m sure you’ll hear from other HW3 owners here.

It doesnt have Require Lane Change Confirmation option but it still asks for confirmation before changing the lane, right?

@cagdaskaratas: Let's hope so. :-)

Out of the blue, navigation is not working/ garage does not open/ pin entry disable/speed is 70mph top.
Soft and hard reboot dies nothing.
Anyone has a solution, please help.

Sounds like you are in Valet mode.

Like Elon said -- "Retrofits will start when our software is able to take meaningful advantage of the Tesla FSD computer, which is an order of magnitude more capable. For now, it’s slightly disadvantageous to have Tesla FSD computer, as our software is more refined for HW2."

Those of you that have HW3 will just have to wait.

@jjgunn - Thank you, I hadn’t seen that but it makes sense.
