"Add Insurance" button on My Tesla dashboard

"Add Insurance" button on My Tesla dashboard

Today I noticed a new(?) button on My Dashboard next to the driver's license information.

Is this something that appears at a certain point in the production process of the car?
Or what triggers this button to appear?
(Or is it just new for everyone?)

Same here. I saw the new insurance info this morning. I did not have to add anything so perhaps my DS added it or it finally came over from some data repository during a dashboard fix. I am now taking screenshots every time I see a change. One day, I shall make a collage.

It showed up on mine and I have had my car for almost a year.
I gave them a copy of my insurance at the time of purchase last year. So, I'm ignoring it.

I guess they use it when giving you a loaner at a service center. That's the only reason I can see for them asking you for it.

Good point, shop. I guess it isn't mandatory to fill in the information. If it is, they'll let us know, I'm sure.

Someone pushed the "Post" button instead of "Preview". Happens all the time, especially at TM.

Actually, it IS mandatory to fill in the insurance information. The "Insurance Company Name" field is a required field on the registration screen.

I got it too, Each of the recent changes all hit on the same days. I had been told to send a copy of my drivers license and insurance card a few weeks ago. The the driver's license place showed up. Now the insurance place took over where it previously had preferred delivery date.

Problem with the way it displays the information though you can see the first few numbers after the name of my insurance company. Needs carria returns to display like the Name and Address.

I wish the delivery date was still shown somewhere.

I guess that's just an attention getting device instead of an email asking for information.

They put that info no in new fields on registration section now and it doesnt show up on my front screen anymore but my preferred delivery date didnt come back.

I have had my MS for 11 months, and I was told to ignore the 'add driver license' request when it appeared 3 months ago by Customer Experience'. I plan to ignore the 'add insurance' request now. If I need it to get a loaner, I will give the info at that time.

Sounds good. I just hope what I'm reading on 5.8 software update has not negated my Smart Air Suspension upgrade before I even get the car.

I can't imagine Telsa not making that configurable at +55mph...but give them time.

Turning it off is probably one line of code; making it configurable is not many more, but probably requires a bunch of QA - which I'm happy to wait for.

My car gets better every year? Wow...that's a no-brainer to wait for. I'm not dismissing this issue, rather I'm putting it in my own perspective...and that perspective is to chill, have patience and wait, not stamp my foot and demand. I reserve 3.5 years, so maybe that brackets my patience limit, dunno.

I want this company to succeed so they can continue to make even better cars (whatever the Y in SEXY is, I want a Sig ;-), and I want them around to service NKYTA for the next N years I'm alive...cuz I'm certain my brake pads will be fine then.

It has changed again. The Registration Edit screen the Insurance related fields have moved again. The Insurance company name and first few numbers are back on the front dashboard again.

Elon just eased my fear. Today's post from Elon said we will have active air suspension that we can control and Tesla will under warranty replace any Tesla Model S lost to fire even if it is from driver error.
