License plates

It’s been around 2 months since I got my car and I haven’t received my plates yet. It wouldn’t be a problem but my temporary plates already expired three days ago. It’s my fault since I didn’t notice it expired but 2 months already. I called the Service center got routed to Tesla center in Fremont and then gave me an email to send with my vin number . I was like wow customer service is sparse. Hope they improve in customer relations. Tesla is the only EV car in the block but in 20 years watch out Ford may beat you . In seriousness what’s the next step ?

I was told by my delivery specialist that it's often the case that the state DMV's miss the first deadline. He said if that happened (or if you don't receive your tags few days before your temporary tags expire, call Tesla (in advance if possible) and Tesla will send you an extension tag. My Texas tags came two days after my original temporary tag expired. It happens, but you can get a second temporary tag if you need one.

When I ordered personalized plates I had them in two weeks. Plates used to be manufactured by prisoners years ago. Guess the government thought that was hard labour. As any Canadian will tell you when the inmates made the plates they were much better and could last up to 40 years. Now you are lucky to get five years out of them before they start falling apart and have to be replaced or you get a ticket. More money for the government from us. Thats progress. Hope you get your plates in time. :-)

PA single plate is made from aluminum. I've been using my current plate since 2001. It no longer has a validation sticker. All police cars now have computers and they can easily look up the expiration date. As a result there is no longer a problem with stolen validation stickers.
