AWD and Battery Upgrade - Separate or One?

AWD and Battery Upgrade - Separate or One?

So the word from Elon seems to be that AWD will be available for less that $5K.

My question is will that include a battery range and performance upgrade as part of that option or will it be separate add on?

If these are two different upgrades then will the battery and performance upgrade be available without having to spring for AWD?

Personally my first concern is better range and performance and not necessarily AWD, but if that comes with the deal though all the better!

Yet to be announced or maybe even yet to be determined.

Would second the preference for separate. I am interested in AWD (Michigan snow) but not the longer range. I want to put my money into that and the glass roof.

I would think they are separate based on the options on the Model S.

Uhmmm... YES.

I wouldn't recommend glass roof in colder climates.

Dual motors by their nature would provide a battery boost, but not a huge amount. Perhaps 235 miles based on current numbers. Real battery upgrades will have a higher cost and a bigger impact on range. Maybe up to 300 miles on the model 3.
