Adding feature to retract steering wheel when the door opens

Adding feature to retract steering wheel when the door opens

I just got my Model S and love it! However, i gave up my Lexus for it, and a really convenient feature in the Lexus is that when you get out of the car, the steering wheel retracts up and away, making it much easier to exit. Anyone know if this is a feature request they're looking into?

Other small nitpicks i've noticed as a newbie owner:
-Not much hidden storage space in the front. I'm used to a bit of storage in the lower part of the doors, between the seats, and a trunk. For example, keeping bluetooth headsets, or other things that i don't want out in the open... and the glove compartment is getting stuffed already (manuals, Kleenex, auto first aid kit, etc:)

Favorite feature so far: standing in line at Home Depot, when it was 95F outside, i used my iphone to turn on the AC in the car, and when i got to the car.... ahhhhh.. wow. that's brilliant!

I just added another driver sliding the seat back & retracting the steering wheel.

I store the manuals and other "what if" items in the lower storage space in the back - no reason to have them at my finger tips. This leaves room for everyday items. Also, depending on your seat choice, you may have a pocket on the frontside of the drivers seat. Great for wallet, phone, etc.

Nice hiding spot for valuables if you want then in the car. The front of the drivers seat has a pouch on it.

I agree that an auto option to raise steering wheel and move seat back like Audi, mercedes and Lexus would be wonderful. I, too, set up "exit" driver, but that is way less convenient than it happening automatically when you put it ion park or open the door

Where did you get the iphone ap to start the airco?

Leather seats only.

Set up a new profile called "Exit" and put the steering wheel up, seat back, etc and use it when exiting the car. That seems to be the popular workaround for now.

Clever idea!

Probably a very good feature to add for Model X... would probably increase its appeal...........
