Anyone else having touch screen issues?

I picked up my Model 3 Monday and Immediately started having touch screen problem. I get a series of phantom touch events on the right hand side of the screen. This often makes the volume go to max unexpectedly and makes using the stereo, bluetooth phone, maps and navigation extremely difficult. All they have had me do is reboot the car few times and send in a bug report. It happens every few minutes or so. So far Tesla has just given me the typical "we are looking into it" kind of answer. I have stopped driving the car as it is way too annoying to drive like this. I have even found it blaring away at max volume in the garage a couple of time. (I guess it was streaming from my phone) I am worried it will damage the speakers if this keeps happening. I posted this video on youtube to show the problem.

Tesla says they have never heard of the issue before will not schedule me to bring it in for service and give me a loaner until the issue is resolved. I was wondering if any of you guys have seen the same issue?

Raleigh, NC.

Tesla mobile service visited me at work today and fixed the glovebox. I am very impressed with how quickly this issue was resolved (even though it shouldn't have been an issue in the first place on a new car).

This gave me an opportunity to experience Tesla mobile service for the first time. I have to say, after years of owning cars and taking them to the dealership and/or mechanic to get fixed, this is an incredibly convenient service.

"This is now happening every time the cabin gets hot."

It seems by now that the jury's in that this is a fundamental design defect and Tesla hasn't gotten the memo and is just blindly replacing screens rather than redesigning the housing somehow to factor in thermal expansion.

I live in Austin, TX. I picked up my new Model 3 in early May. Have had several instances of the touchscreen going crazy. Took it in to the Service Center late May for this problem. Picked it up a few days later, supposedly fixed by a firmware update. Nope. Did it to me today while driving. Put the radio on Pause so the volume wouldn't keep increasing. Couldn't pull over because of traffic, but called Tesla, who had to put in an email to the Austin service center that was not answering. Later, I'm driving 70 when the volume came on full blast from Pause. I felt the pressure in my eardrums and almost lost control of the car from being startled. I would call this a big safety issue.

...and so it continues.

I had phantom touch issue starting day 1. Tesla came to my work and changed the screen, took an hour no charge.
Tech said that he has seen this before and it is a known issue. Vin#145XX

Just reported the crazy display issues to Tesla again. They are logging it as a "Concern". I had the most current firmware update -18.18.13, and Tim was aware of this problem. Didn't see replacing the display as the resolution, and didn't have any data from those whose displays were replaced.

We have the same issue. We picked up the car on May 7th and experienced this problem for the first time 2 days later. We called Tesla, and they told us how to reboot the screen. We did, and it temporarily fixed the problem, but it has happened on numerous occasions since, including twice today. I finally decided to do a search to see if others were having similar problems. That's when I found this forum. Sounds like I need to call Tesla and ask to have the touchscreen replaced.

Did you remove the factory screen protector?

Started happening today, dropping pins, scrolling through display function screens, wipers turning from auto to manual and randomly turning on (no rain here!) high and low volume on speakers. Music transitioning in and out. Anyone start to have car start to cool itself down when the internal temp shows 73? I thought the new software had an auto cool down at something over 100 F... I sent a note to service and hope to hear back.

I had pretty bad phantom touch issues in the beginning, though it did get better with the software updates. But in the end they had a ranger install a new screen for me.

@zylka I have the same problem but not the volume going up and down. Computer stayed on when car was locked and navigation screen blinks and keeps typing o’s. Only had the car 4 days. It is a holiday today so left the car in my driveway and plan on calling Tesla in the am. Very disappointed as I waited so long fro this car.

I had the same issue two days ago. Picked up my car on August 9th. After reading all the messages here, describing the same display "craziness", I called today to the SC and without any discussion they scheduled the screen replacement. But my question is: will it solve the problem? I'm asking those who experienced the same problem and have replaced their display already.
