Appears my car no longer receives WiFi

I have been having issues from the beginning with my car dropping my home WiFi connection for days on end and sometimes needing to reboot to connect again. However since Wednesday, my car hasn't been able to even discover any of the numerous networks (mine, neighbors) around me, much less connect to my home WiFI network. I contacted my local SC and they re-flashed the connectivity module but to no avail. I'm hoping to be able to have a mobile technician come to my house and fix it.

I have an 8/17 build car. My question is, would/will I be able to get a newer module with 5 GHz WiFi?

I haven't heard of a 5GHz retrofit, so unlikely unless you buy the MCU2 retrofit (not yet available). I assume you've tried a reboot? Otherwise, I expect Tesla will replace the MCU.

I tried rebooting it several times. They flashed the module. Given the problems I’ve had with it over the years, I have to assume it’s dead. And if they have to replace the MCU, they might as well give me MCU2. ;)

Wifi module is in the passenger mirror. You may just get a module or mirror replacement.

I can live with that.
