Bluetooth Echo

Bluetooth Echo

Whenever someone calls or we have an outgoing call on the car the person on the other side gets a very annoying echo. Any ideas on cause/fix?

It's the other party hearing their own voice echo back or does your voice echo? Or both?

It is the other party hearing an echo. Definitely the car causing the problem. When I have the issue I pull out the AirPods and the moment it switches from car to airpod, the other party says it is fine. Same phone, same connection, same call, on BT, just different devices.

same problem here. no remedy

Same problem with my 2 week old Model 3. The software update this week did not correct it.

I've had this problem in my Model 3 and I think the phone also makes a difference. My Xiami Mi Mix 2 phone had echo (for people on the other end) only in the Model 3 but the car doesn't seem to have the issue with my Oneplus 6 phone. I'm not sure whether the car had the same issue with my Galaxy S9+ because no one mentioned a problem and I didn't know echo was an issue when I used that phone. (I've used those 3 phone since getting the car).

Model 3 using iphone 7 and Galaxy S6 - both have issues with echos

Have had this problem for a month on the M3, even after the latest software update.

It has to do with the software not muting the talker on the other side. If you press mute on Tesla side, the caller on the other side no longer hears the self echo.

Yesterday @ab-tesla posted the following list of bug fixes in 28.1, as learned from a visit to the Denver service center: (note #2)

1. Homelink freezing when aborted
2. Call echo on Iphone 7 and X
3. Backup Camera sometimes showing black screen
4. Key not working on Iphone 7 if app aborted
5. False warning about washer fluid and brake fluid being low
6. Sudden and unexplained braking when using Auto Pilot

Had same issue.. i lowered the speaker volume in the car and it seems to solve the issue...

Currently on 2018.28.3, still the other side of the call hears a very strong echo (I don't, in the car). Is there a later version that endeavors to fix this?

TexasBob | August 23, 2018

@charleyBC 28.x seemed to fix 90% of the problem for us (ie there was a very slight and faint echo on my wife's 28.3 yesterday but is stopped after a minute or so and otherwise no issues). I updated to 32.2 so will have to see if I get any further issues but I think this is solved for me.

This isn’t just a Tesla problem. My ram 5500 will do it once in a while. I can hear my echo when calling certain people. If I call my boss I can hear my echo. It seems like it does it when I am in a certain area also.

problem in my case was hardware.

Apperanly there is some kind of rubber band around the microphone that keeps the sound in the same place. the problem was it was dameged. When they replaced it, it backed to work Smiley Happy
