Boycott Starbucks

Boycott Starbucks

That egoistic billionaire is trying to hand the other egoistic billionaire his second term for nothing but a narcissistical satisfaction. Just hit him where it hurts the most.

El Mirio | January 29, 2019

is boycotting still legal in the US? I thought the Israelis ensured US senate/congress passed a law against that.

Tesla-David | January 29, 2019

Totally concur @carlk, he is an idiot and will only disrupt the 2020 election. 60 minutes should never have given him a platform to spout his nonsense as did NPR today.

SCCRENDO | January 29, 2019

Agree let's all boycott Starbucks. One point could be made that he could siphon off Republicans who find Trump distasteful and are concerned about the Dems being too liberal. In other words people who hated Hillary more than Trump and held their noses and voted for him. But I find this strategy too risky and he is more likely to be a spoiler against the Dems in a tight election
@El Mirio. How can it be illegal and how can the government tell me where to buy my coffee

efuseakay | January 29, 2019

He’s not CEO anymore. That being says, their coffee sucks so there reason enough to go Dunkin’. :)

El Mirio | January 29, 2019

@SCCRENDO if Starbucks where an Israeli company it could be illegal to boycott in many states for government contractors, or government employees.

https://theintercept.com/2018/12/17/israel-texas-anti-bds-law/

Its a very scary read!

SCCRENDO | January 29, 2019

@El Mirio. Not clear whether that was legal but this is different. Nobody can force you to drink Starbucks. I am not a lawyer but I suspect you could even picket them if you wanted
@efuseakay. Good point. Not sure if he still owns stock or has another present connection. Perhaps everyone should boycott Seattle Supersonics games.

SO | January 29, 2019

Ugh. I don’t even want to think about the next presidential race. This last one feels like it never ended.

Tesla-David | January 29, 2019

I agree with @jimglas the traitorous POTUS is going down. I am very much looking forward to upcoming Mueller indictments to come soon!

RedShift | January 29, 2019

I’m willing to boycott.

Just saw him talking about this and he didn’t offer any data to back up his rebuttal of the criticism he has been receiving. A silver tongued slippery big fish.

@darth
“FYI - “He” was already going to win”

56% of America disagrees.

lilbean | January 29, 2019

Boycotted over 10 years ago.

carlk | January 29, 2019

Yeah I watched him on CBS this morning. Nothing but a big windbag. Talked about about reducing national debt but could not give a valid reason why it's so important even when challenged by interviewers that many economists say this level of debt is not an issue. All he could come up with is it's immoral. Again he could not come up with an anwser when asked if it's immoral even when money is used to do good things (like medical care for all) other than repeating his immoral line.

SCCRENDO | January 29, 2019

@redshift. Listen to Darth. Mueller has already got Cohen for buying fake polls. Could he have got them from Darth. He purposely does not provide accurate responses to polls. Yeah we knew that Darth.

RedShift | January 29, 2019

Whose “we”?

Maliciously lying, ignorant, asking for handouts, deadbeats looking for a Hail Mary resurrection of faded glory?

Dies that sum up you assholes?

RedShift | January 29, 2019

Last one was for Darth.

jimglas | January 29, 2019

probably would be better if you avoided using profanity.
Doesn't relly help you make your point or seem rational

RedShift | January 29, 2019

Sorry, couldn’t resist. Let’s replace the profanity with ‘morons’. After all, their dear leader was called one by many of his own employees. Both very high level and low level.

RedShift | January 29, 2019

Operating from a position of hate only begets more hate, Darth. One day, that will run out of steam. I wouldn’t be that smug about his chances in 2020.

Anything’s possible though. Hopeless people can do desperate things.

Yodrak. | January 29, 2019

There seem to be a lot of tea drinkers on the forum?

More important, what's the guy's position with regard to EVs v ICEVs?

Darthamerica | January 29, 2019

Anything is possible. But it's not likely that you and others will get your wish of you're betting on Mueller, Russians, scandals, polls or the extreme left. Your best political strategy would be to run a candidate you really want in 2024 so as to build name recognition. If/when the economy does its usual turn during the second Trump term you wage your real campaign with a 4 year headstart. It's not likely the GOP will have a popular firebrand force of nature like Trump to follow him. Of course if opportunity presents itself in 2020 then good for you. But it's not likely. But by 2024 RBG will be gone from SCOTUS so the US Constitution should be fully safe through the 2032 elections. Conservatives and Patriots will see that and almost certainly vote to ensure this regardless of polls just like 2016.

RedShift | January 29, 2019

You don’t know anything. Neither do I. So let me bit you and Yodrak goodbye.

RedShift | January 29, 2019

BTW, Darth,

Patriotism is not patented by conservatives. This kind of talk is why you guys might deserve the labels you get. Your dear leader faked bone spurs to avoid being drafted. Yet you guys worship him.

Cruel facts!

RedShift | January 29, 2019

Sorry Darth, brain washing works on the weak minded. I’m a liberal and I will gladly give up my life defending freedom and my country. How do you square that with your hateful ideology that seems to be at war with liberals?

Maybe it’s time for you to broaden your horizons and open up to ‘non alternative’ facts?

marychristenson | January 29, 2019

cave man fits so well in so many ways

SCCRENDO | January 29, 2019

I haven’t looked at Fauxnews today. Did they notice all the experts that were horrified at how Trump is neglecting ISIS by pulling out of Syria suddenly and butt kissing Kim while he continues to build up his nuclear arsenal. And off course he continues to sell out to the Russians. Talk about traitors. We have a Manchurian candidate sellling out out country.

jordanrichard | January 30, 2019

So let me get this straight, you want everyone to boycott Starbucks today because a guy who LEFT the company 26 YEARS AGO, is running for president. I don't what which party or subset of a party you affiliate with, but this way, way over reacting doesn't help your cause.

jordanrichard | January 30, 2019

I meant, "...I don't know which party....."

SCCRENDO | January 30, 2019

@jordanrichard. You are correct. It is probably pointless. Although we need to all protest loudly. This is all about his ego. He doesnt stand a snowball’s chance of winning the presidency but in a tight election which this is likely to be he could definitely end up as spoiler and give us 4 more years of Trump. Here is hoping that Mueller is coming to the rescue.

El Mirio | January 30, 2019

@SCCRENDO by the way in regards to the BDS boycott thing, notice that this has huge bipartisan support for new federal legislation, while likely illegal it is supported by dems and reps, lawmakers which are supposed to know the constitution.

1st bill in the senate!

https://theintercept.com/2019/01/05/u-s-senates-first-bill-in-midst-of-s...

jordanrichard | January 30, 2019

SCCRENDO, yes but by that logic, we all should boycott Japanese cars TODAY because of Pearl Harbor. What does the barista at your local Starbucks today got to with Shultz.

My point is it is this over reacting, throwing the baby out with the bath water, soap, and kitchen sink out the window that makes people not take you serious. People jump and rightly so for Trump blowing things out of proportion and reacting to things that are irrelevant, well that's exactly what this is.

So Schultz in some people's opinions is just doing this for his ego, ok and.....? What does that have to do with Starbucks?

Make America Grande Again!

SCCRENDO | January 30, 2019

@jordan. Yes. sorry about that. In answer to your question a boycott of Starbucks and indeed the Seattle Supersonics is indeed pointless if he has no further financial interest. He was affiliated with Starbucks until very recently. His presidential run will not help the country and could be very damaging. If he thinks he is a Democrat then he needs to run in the primary. Otherwise we all need to point out that he is an independent who is the enemy of the Democrats

carlk | January 30, 2019

Shultz is the single largest shareholder of Starbucks. Just hit him where it hurts the most. It's only fair when he's doing the same trying to screw us.

SCCRENDO | January 30, 2019

A 2 minute google shows that @carlk is correct. So I think if we can "short" LOL Starbucks stock we may send a great message. Not obviously as impactful as when he was active in the company.

carlk | January 30, 2019

It will still be a big hit on his net worth. Not to mention there will be collateral damages to those close to him that should make him to think twice about to proceed with his plan. Again it's only fair when he's doing the same to hurt everyone of us.

Darthamerica | January 30, 2019

You're all being paranoid. Just vote. That's all, pick a candidate aligned with your views and vote. The Electoral College will do the rest!

carlk | January 30, 2019

Apparently you have no clue that Electoral College system has made popular vote irrelevant.

SCCRENDO | January 30, 2019

stevenmaifert | January 30, 2019

You guys do realize that Starbucks is one of the most liberal progressive companies in America... Right? Boycott if you must, but the company execs are still going to get paid while they close stores and the fine young folks in the picture lose their jobs and benefits: https://www.starbucks.com/careers/working-at-starbucks/benefits-and-perks

Darthamerica | January 30, 2019

@Carlk apparently you missed the sarcasm.

SCCRENDO | January 30, 2019

Support Pete's, the Coffee Bean etc. They can hire the laid off Starbuck's employees. The company may be liberal and progressive but their ex CEO and largest shareholder is not. He is trying to re-elect Trump.

SCCRENDO | January 30, 2019

@Carlk. You may have missed the sarcasm but you stepped right into a piece of dog turd. The Russian troll is on patrol.
