Car started charging after software update

Car started charging after software update

I have had my MS 100D for 4 months and have had numerous software upgrades with no issues. My car was in the garage plugged in with my usual setting to begin charging at midnight. I got a notice in the afternoon to upgrade to 2019.24.4 which I accepted. About 45 minutes later I checked the app and the software was successfully loaded but the car was charging! It appears as though the update toggled off the button to start at midnight. I checked the car screen and sure enough it was toggled off. Never happened before. I guess the lesson is to leave it unplugged during software update if away or quickly check to see if charging. Is this common?

Also nav system put me in OZ ( Fremont factory) which quickly resolved once I drove it out of the garage.

By the way, I absolutely love the car and the forums. I have learned so much from all your expert advice which has contributed to my new understanding of the car...

Updates have been known to change settings, so if charging before midnight is a problem for you, unplug before installing an update.

My guess was the GPS data was wrong so the car didn't realize it was at home. In case you didn't know, the schedule is specific to each location. | August 21, 2019

Thank you for this warning! I caught it only a couple of minutes after my car started charging when software update finished. It was set to begin charging at 11:00 pm (when electricity rates go way down), but obviously started charging hours too early. The charging start time button had been turned off, apparently by doing the update. I wouldn't even have noticed if I hadn't been checking to see if software updates/start time settings are compatible. Thanks again.
