Delivery rejections?

Delivery rejections?

Has anyone actually refused delivery of their car due to issues with it off the truck?

After reading some recent posts and hearing about the condition some cars have been delivered in I'm curious if anyone has actually rejected delivery and how it was handled with getting the problems fixed?

I'm sure for most having cars delivered at a service center this isn't an issue because the vehicle can be cleaned and examined by service prior to delivery.

Mine was delivered to my home by truck after having final inspection, cleaning, and charging at the service center 430 miles away. The car was flawless and on time. No problems at all.

Mine came in a closed truck. It had no damage. It was also fully charged. Delivery was from Bellevue, about 260 miles away. It came a day late, but that was understandable. They had trouble getting a truck and were making about 12-14 deliveries a day from the Bellevue SC. It came on a truck capable of carrying 7 or 8 cars, and mine was the only car on it for the entire trip.

Alright guys, he's asking if anyone HAS rejected one. Please place your warm fuzzy stories on the "No problems" or whatever it's called thread. No offense, but we all know how big and crazy these threads can get.

I'm actually very curious to see what the rejection process is like.

No recent rejections surfaced on the boards that I can recall. There were some serious candidates early on and as I recall TMs reaction was we fix it or we build you a new one. could help to find the threads.

My opinion is that TM should cover the cars during transport between the factory and the users similar how other high end cars are transported (i.e. Audi), that is if they don't do it. Or have the local Service center detail them before passing them on to the user. Also MT needs to have a satisfaction survey post delivery to make sure they they have feedback mechanism and to correct these issues.

I just ok'ed to prod. my P85 and I don't have an issue refusing delivery if it's in bad shape, for a $100k transation they need to make a better effort.

And this has zero to do with the price... I also expect a $15k Fiat 500 or $20k Nissan Versa to be in factory fresh condition at acceptance. This "how much did I spent" argument is really getting old...

I had an enjoyable delivery experience. Clean, on time in Norristown, PA..

I have not heard of any rejected deliveries on this site of TMC.

If cars can be sold in your state, Tesla receives them and makes sure they are in perfect shape before delivering to you. If your state does not allow Tesla to sell, you pay for it in advance (technically purchased in CA) and they put it on a third party shipping truck to deliver directly to you. In some of these instances, cars have not arrived in perfect shape, but in every instance, Tesla steps in after you have taken possession of the car and makes it right. Even if you immediately turn the car back over to Tesla in this instance, it is not "rejecting" delivery as you already own the car. It becomes a service issue at that point. The bottom line is Tesla is taking care of everyone even when they cannot receive and prepare the car in advance for you. That is why this is an non issue - though I appreciate your concern. I had to take the leap of faith with my purchase as I live in AZ, but was not worried after reading the forum posts and speaking withy delivery specialist.
