Passed through Gilroy today and noticed the new construction. Looks like the expansion to at least 8 charging bays. Huge trench next to the existing Superchargers.
Any new updates/pictures?
Will there be a ribbon cutting ceremony when the expansion will have been finished (this week or next week)?
Any chance that anybody will visit Gilroy in the coming days? If yes, make photo's please.
Is it more likely that all the work will be finished next week (last week of September), or the week after next week (first week of October)?
@Benz - I was at Gilroy today around lunch time. Ground construction seems completed only the asphalt guy has to fill up the edges. No crew was present. I have a picture but need to figure out how to post it from dropbox.
Great, looking forward to your photo's already.
Wait a minute. Can the already existing Supercharger spots be used for charging a Model S (while the construction work is going on)? Or has Gilroy been closed for Supercharging, for the time being?
Yesterday upon arrival there was only one MS already there, but it had been backed in and was using the charger in the next bay.
Was fine as I was only there for 15 minutes (enough to get home with a buffer), no one else showed - but could have been ugly as that car was basically taking up 2 slots.
@Benz - the new ones are an independent installation, the old ones are working just fine. Sorry no picture yet... work needs me and have no time to figure it out right now.
I used Gilroy last Thursday with no problems. I am guessing from what the construction gents said, the only delay may be PGE. We shall see over the next week or so. Also if you are stuck, there are two Chargepoint stations adjacent to the SC stations.
Next week it might be ready.
In any case before October 1st, 2013.
The new chargers are 120kWh chargers, right?
Went shopping in Gilroy today - the asphalt guy filled up the edges, but no visible sign that the electrical installion has started.
Benz - all new SC are 120 kW. And still working on how to upload pictures...
There is no site-based upload. You must store on another site and refer to it. Context menu Copy Image Location gives the URL to insert in this HTML:
<img src="URL" width="600">
Leave all punctuation and quotes in place.
This is a test.
Well, it looks like the test worked well.
The photo was posted in a newsarticle on a website of a Dutch car magazine called "Autoweek".
All I did was click on the photo with the right side of the mouse.
Then a menu appears.
Choose (left click) Properties/Characteristics (on the bottom of the list of the menu).
Then you can see an URL adres, which you have to copy.
And then past this URL adres inbetween: (as has been said by Brian already).
In the above post I did not insert a photo, just the HTML which Brian has mentioned in his post as well:
Why can I not just copy a piece of tekst (the HTML) that I can read in Brian's post?
It copies fine into the Reply box, then replace URL with the proper url!
Yes I can post a picture:
But if I just want to type the HTML (without a URL address of a certain picture), then you see this:
Yes, you can't type in HTML, since the forum software will try to interpret the HTML as real HTML and process it. Here's how you type in HTML:
Replace the less than sign and greater than sign at the beginning and end of all your HTML tags with the HTML escape sequence for those symbols. So, as typed, your HTML will look like:
< img src="http://www.foo.com/foo.jpg" >
All useful info.....now, any news or pictures of Gilroy SC expansion?
Are we waiting for the PG&E now?
I geuss so.
Typo: I guess so.
Did you mean to say "I Gauss so"?
Or 10^-4 tesla so? If the Tesla batteries degraded as fast as threads do, everyone would be screaming "Bloody Murder."
As of Monday, Gilroy looked like this:
(Keeping my fingers crossed. This is the first photo link I've tried)
OK, well let's try that again:

Nope. I give up for now.
You have to post HTML for the jpg image itself, not a URL for a web page.
Still looks the same today (Thursday).
And include width="600"
Maybe there will be more progress next week.
Let's see what happens this week.
stopped there today. The "trench" is actually just a foundation with conduits plumbed in for cables. Thus I assume it's where the actual hardware for the new stalls will be located and fenced off just like the existing ones. It looks like they have basically built a completely new supercharging station right alongside the existing one. There look like 8 more bays and there were 6 already so that's gonna be a lot of bays!!!
Make that 6 new bays. sorry can't count correctly.
Any photo's? Maybe something has changed in the mean time.
Was there on Saturday - looked pretty much the same as the pix above.
Should look differently during the cours of this week, I guess.

Maybe someone will post more photo's during next week?
I was at Gilroy today (Sat the 5th, Oct) and took these pics. Six new stalls set up for "back in" charging. They still have a lot of work to do as the heavy electrical equipment is clearly not installed yet.
No progress from a week ago... thanks for the update and pictures.
Maybe in the current week we will see some progress?
Think the ball may be in PG&E's court now. Also, transformers - who installs them?
Probably by the end of October 2013 is more likely?
