Houston was warned by scientists but called them alarmists

Like climate disruption we have politics being the problem.

SCCRENDO | November 16, 2017

I am not a gambler but a scientists. Yes I believe you will flood again. But I cannot predict when. You now live in a flood zone.

bigd | November 17, 2017

SCCRENDO “I am not a gambler but a scientists.” Lol thanks for the joke. I did lmao on that one

SCCRENDO | November 17, 2017

@bigdufus. Do you still have Halloween candy??? Give it to your mother. It’s making you hyperactive.

bigd | November 18, 2017

Allcapsguy, your Oedipus complex keeps showing up as much as you talk about mother’s. I hope you are seeking help for this. That is a sickness even in liberal land.

Mike83 | November 29, 2017

Beware of personal liability for excluding Climate Change and this may include government appointees besides CEOs. As we see more damages those profiting by lies may be held accountable.

Mike83 | December 1, 2017

As fossil fuel burning continues creating warmer oceans and more El Nino's loss of trees from fires and droughts creates a carbon feedback loop releasing even more CO2 and further climate disruption.

Mike83 | December 1, 2017

As fossil fuel burning continues creating warmer oceans and more El Nino's loss of trees from fires and droughts creates a carbon feedback loop releasing even more CO2 and further climate disruption.

Mike83 | December 6, 2017

It seems the the least severe Climate Disruption can be thrown out. The worst ones more apt to be more accurate.

Mike83 | December 13, 2017

So climate change is a HOAX? Perhaps it's the fossil fuel companies and Republican's lies that is the bigger hoax.

Tesla-David | December 13, 2017

Thanks @Mike83, nothing like a huge dose of facts/science to set the record straight on the causes for Harvey's severity.

MitchP85D | December 13, 2017

Meanwhile, as of 12 DEC 2017, the NSIDC Arctic sea ice extent is 11.502 X 10^6 km2. About 500,000 km2 ahead of last year on that date.

Human-caused global warming theory is freezing up!

rxlawdude | December 13, 2017

Only a weatherman would continuously and purposefully conflate CLIMATE and weather.

MitchP85D | December 13, 2017

Hellasmarter Dude, you global warming worshippers have been crying wolf about the Arctic melting away for decades. Every prediction made about the melting Arctic has failed in the past. Why do you still believe it now? I know why. You just want to believe it!

You AGW worshippers just keep doing the same thing over and over again. You know, the thing Einstein alluded to? Yet, the Arctic ice is not cooperating with your demands!

Mike83 | December 13, 2017

Is it real or fake from Welfare Caveman Mitch who builds in flood zones affected by Climate Disruption. It must have been a FIGMENT of his imagination or cognitive issues since he gets FEMA help paid for by all Americans.
Going into a realistic time frame it looks like an Arctic melt to me. Look at the pictures if you have trouble reading words.

SCCRENDO | December 13, 2017

@welfare-Mitch. When all scientists leave for Paris there will be nobody to explain to you how to read graphs. Every university will be like Texas A&M. No scientists. You will have to go to Mexico or Canada or fly to the Sorbonne to learn science. Can you please click on your link you posted and explain to me how 2017 ice extent differs from the 2 previous lower years of 2012 and 2016 and all are well over 2 SD below the mean. fro years 1980-2010. Perhaps your fellow genius Brain-Remnant can help.

MitchP85D | December 14, 2017

"The Arctic is a different place than a decade ago?" Yep, let's have a look at that.

All of your global warming worshipping chants for "melt dammit melt" are not working!

MitchP85D | December 14, 2017

Ozone Hole Mike = Sanctimonious Socialist Turd #3.

MitchP85D | December 14, 2017

AKA SaSoT Boy3.

SCCRENDO | December 14, 2017

Not sure where you are getting your facts from. That link shows the same ice loss that all the other data shows

I'm going skiing over the Christmas weekend to Alta (Utah). Only 23 inches of snow now. What are the odds of decent snowfall in the next week.

Mike83 | December 14, 2017

Amusing that the Welfare Caveman seems to think having scientific facts is socialistic while he collects welfare and fossil fuel dividends from the overtaxed American middle class. I think it will be at least a wash financially and a miserable life. Living in a fake world seems childish.

SCCRENDO | December 14, 2017

@Mike. I think that a lot of this is lack of education. And Trump and the Republican lapdogs are messing with post graduate education in multiple ways. One common tactic of dictators is to have uneducated obedient masses. Educated people ask too many logical questions. It's interesting that when dictators persecute the masses intellectuals particularly physicians are targeted. I am testing Welfare_MItch to see how well he performs in his stated profession in predicting snowfall for my ski trip

rxlawdude | December 14, 2017

@Mitch, you go off topic a lot. My statement is that you conflate weather (single data points, or points taken in a relatively limited timespan) with climate (a continuum of individual weather events over relatively long periods of time).

I have no desire to debate with you, other than the fact you seem to be clueless about that very basic (as in third grade science) distinction.

Mike83 | December 15, 2017

Heat Wave ENTIRELY due to the burning of fossil fuels(as we all have known for decades) causing unprecedented Climate Disruption and Coral Reef bleaching. The costs to civilization are horrendous.

El Mirio | December 15, 2017

good news climate change debate is O V E R, clean is cheaper!! We need to focus on speed to transition, not to convince hillbillies, they don't matter to the cause, numbers are firmly on our side, money and population wise.

Tesla-David | December 15, 2017

Wow, thanks @Mike83 for the link. The facts do not lie, and we are destroying the habitability of this planet by continuing to use fossil fuels. I wonder what our weatherman Welfare_Mitch has to say about these facts.

"For years scientists have known humans are changing the risk of some extremes. But finding multiple extreme events that weren’t even possible without human influence makes clear that we’re experiencing new weather, because we’ve made a new climate."

MitchP85D | December 15, 2017

I put a challenge out to you global warming worshippers on the "Climate Change Science is Sound thread. Are any of you going to take it? Or, are all of you just going to run off with your tail in between your legs!

SCCRENDO | December 15, 2017

@Welfare_Mitch. Wtf are you talking about?? Do you actually understand anything???

Remnant | December 16, 2017

@SCCRENDO (November 16, 2017)

<< I am not a gambler but a [scientist]. >>

LOL, you are no scientist, SaSoT.

You're but a delusional endocrinologist, hon. Just face it.

science-isbetter | December 16, 2017

It's not that Mitch's school doesn't have scientists. They most certainly do. It's just that he didn't learn (or has an agenda).

MitchP85D | December 16, 2017

Hey SaSoT Boy1 and science isn't, I am talking about the weather and climate of Barrow, AK. Ozone Hole Mike posted that the above normal temperatures in Barrow, AK are due to human-caused global warming. I had an alternate explanation. And it can be easily tested. Are you two global warming worshippers up to the challenge?

SamO | December 16, 2017

Doctors don't do science. They mostly deal in crystal healing, phrenology, the four humors of blood, yellow bile, black bile, and phlegm.

science-isbetter | December 16, 2017

I love the sobriquet Mitch gave me (science-isn't). It means that he admits that science isn't better.

That explains why he failed to learn while at Agricultural and Mechanical.

Mike83 | December 16, 2017

Not everyone going to a University makes it. Several reasons why. Too much partying, Not learning the lessons, bad at tests, taking courses that are too advanced for their competence, arrogance, superstitious beliefs meaning not having an open mind, not having the ability to UNLEARN incorrect beliefs and other reasons.
Competition is also a factor like grading on a a curve and only the best make it.
But I believe big egos and not trying to learn are the biggest factors.
Darwin's theory works slowly but it will work here.

Mike83 | December 16, 2017

Open your mind. Take a Climate science test if you have any honesty and the willingness to LEARN

SCCRENDO | December 16, 2017

@Sam0. And humor is my strong point. LOL
@Welfare_Mitch. As a journeyman weatherman you are purely describing local short term weather changes explaining slight temp variability. You should read the whole article and look at the graphs constructively and even someone as ignorant as you would be able to see that overall the ice continues to melt. Climate change does not live or die on an isolated heat wave or cold spell. This results in short term variation. But you need to educate yourself in understanding long term trends.

SCCRENDO | December 16, 2017

@Welfare_Mitch. How many did you get right on Mike’s climate science test? I am guessing 0/9. Same grade as your science grade at Texas A&M.

SamO | December 16, 2017

Post your grades in Humors class. And how did you do in leeching? I'm asking for a climate denier.

SCCRENDO | December 16, 2017

4.7 in Humor. AP course. I can also be a great leech if you annoy me. I cling and never let go.

MitchP85D | December 16, 2017

I presented a challenge to all of you Sanctimonious Socialist Turds. And as I expected, all of you spineless, gutless pukes are running away with your tail in between your legs!

SCCRENDO | December 16, 2017

@Welfare_Mitch. 1.0 in humor and 4.0 in leech class.

MitchP85D | December 16, 2017

Hey SaSoT Boy1, a challenge you for a duel. Do you accept? Or, are you running away like the wuss that you are!

MitchP85D | December 16, 2017

Make that, "I challenge you for a duel."

SamO | December 16, 2017

don't forget all A's in bile.

Mike83 | December 16, 2017

Welfare Caveman, did you pass the underwater basketweaving class.

sabbia | December 16, 2017

Duels still legal for Aggies who don't understand climate science. Sections 22.01 and 22.06 in the Texas penal code. Hence Mitch's challenge.

Duals (as in dual motors) not so clear.

MitchP85D | December 16, 2017

OK, if I am so stupid as you Sanctimonious Socialist Turds say that I am, then you should be able to whoop my ass if you take up my challenge. Correct?

So tell me. Is the above normal temperatures in Barrow, AK in the month of November 2017 due to human-caused global warming? Or, is it due to my explanation. Pretty simple and direct test. And easy to verify.

None of you will take me up for the challenge because you are afraid that my explanation is the scientifically sound one!

science-isbetter | December 16, 2017

Mitch. As to relevance. How many angels do YOU think can dance on the head of a pin? Go on. Take my challenge.

Or, if you prefer, how many angels can STAND on the head of a pin. Please give a scientifically sound answer.

As to Barrow, AK. High on Thursday, Dec. 21 is predicted to be 17 F. 18 F on Saturday. Average high is -7.3. Nice 24 degree (F) swing.

Now, about those angels?

MitchP85D | December 16, 2017

What kind of a goofy, dumbass point are you trying make science isn't? I just checked the NWS forecast for Barrow, AK. They are currently at -6 deg F with blowing snow. They are forecasting temperature below 0F through Monday. Then, they "warm" up to single digits by midweek, and into the teens by the end of the week. Yes, they have warm air and cold air advection along the North Slope of Alaska like we do in the lower 48!

OK, if you think the average temperature is going to stay at 24 deg F above normal for December 2017, January 2018, February 2018, and March 2018, take my challenge! If the average monthly temperature stays 16F above normal during those months, I will not only tip my hat, I will bow down to you global warming worshippers and proclaim to the entire Tesla Forum that you are right on human-caused global warming and that I am wrong!

SamO | December 16, 2017

Cheese admits he is wrong about climate change.

I'm revising your grade in phrenology from a PH to an F.
