Now off to make some choices... P779

crttnarayan | December 26, 2012

I am 10,760 and I got my e-mail to build about 2 weeks ago

GreenMachine13 | December 27, 2012

I did receive my revised mvpa a little while ago. I don't know what that means for those waiting to receive time to build invites.

mwillmsn | December 27, 2012

@cthiim - no email and no finalize button. My guess is that there won't be any activity this week or next week as they probably have people out on vacation this week and next week and they just let in a few large groups.

Having said that, I am still hitting refresh on my design studio page a few times a day.

archibaldcrane | December 27, 2012

Well it's official, I've "moved back" my reservation. Just completed the "cancellation" to refund my original (#12,104) deposit and placed a new one, #16,921. Hopefully that will push my 60kwh delivery into July or August, we'll see. Worth trying it, anyway. The Tesla person seemed kind of annoyed, said they "didn't want to play musical chairs" with my reservation amount so they'd just refund it. Oddly he didn't even ask to set up my new reservation (although that was simple to do on this website - the first one my wife did as a surprise so I didn't know the process).

Hopefully I'll be much more financially ready for the car by then, and maybe they will have worked out another kink or two in manufacturing during the delay.

RedShift | December 27, 2012

I am #12439. 60kwh, blue, grey, pano roof, tech, super charger, standard susp, lacewood.

I just finalized and will be signing the paperwork today electronically. Was promised an ' early 2013' delivery date. Not sure what that means? (The early 2013 date)

Originally expected a July 2013 delivery, but maybe it will come sooner?

pbrulott | December 28, 2012

P179 Can,

Received my paperwork yesterday the 27th
Was asked to Finalize on the 20th
Have until Jan 19th to sign

Brian H | December 28, 2012

Red Shift;
That translates as Feb.-Apr., probably.

Has any European reservation holders recieved invitation to configure yet?
I suggest that a new tread is started to keep track of EU , "time to build" and delivery notifications

rlpm | December 30, 2012

According to:
European Signature Reservation holders will be invited to configure sometime in January.

Whity Whiteman | December 30, 2012

nothing Yet! European #P502

Pungoteague_Dave | December 30, 2012

These cars are too wide to drive in Europe. We should keep them all here. ;-D

Brian H | December 30, 2012

You cost me a rather messy coffee-coughing fit. I suppose that makes you feel a sense of accomplishment! You should actually apologize. I'm waiting (but not very long).

iainbarnes | December 30, 2012

Are you a Canadian reservation number?? Any idea how many Canadian reservations yet?

riceuguy | December 30, 2012

@redshift, Standard Suspension isn't going into production until March, so figure March or later!

Brian H | December 31, 2012

The Reservation Tally thread keeps track of all that.
It shows 200 Sigs and 602 Production in Canada right now. Sigs are all delivered, AFAIK.

iainbarnes | December 31, 2012

Brian H:

Thanks. I started going through that thread but got lost pretty quick. It is huge.

tork | December 31, 2012

You don't have to read the whole thing... just read the last post by michiganmodels

mlaiken | December 31, 2012

What is the latest US P# to be asked to configure? Just wondering what number they are up to?

gregv64 | December 31, 2012

I don't believe there have been any US configuration emails since the 19th. I was in the last batch, 12535.

mlaiken | December 31, 2012

Thanks gregv64. I hadn't seen any information about new emails going out so I wasn't sure. I guess they decided to slow down on the emails over the holidays. Hopefully they will pick up again next week.

djp | December 31, 2012

I'm thinking folks like me in the #130XX range thought we were close to getting the Time to Configure button. However if the 60s and 40s are entering the mix in January it might be a while. TM will probably push for Configuration commitment to lock in lower price pretty soon, but I seriously doubt I'll see delivery before June...just gues'in

rlpm | December 31, 2012

40kWh will not go into production until March. The same is true for standard (non-air) suspension and the new red paint color.

By my estimation (with lots of help from others incl. Brian H, thanks!), there are approximately 15,000 unfilled reservations worldwide ahead of my US P #16743, including both finalized and unfinalized reservations. So by that estimation, there are no more than 11,356 such unfilled reservations in front of US P #13,099. At a production rate of 600 vehicles/week, they could fulfill all those reservations by mid-May.

It's impossible to estimate the additional number of cancelations that will reduce that time to wait.

And keep in mind that vehicles with any of 40kWh, std suspension and/or (new) red paint will not go into production until March. Assuming mid-March, that's 10 weeks, or 6,000 cars produced.

In other words, keep up hope, especially if you want 60kWh w/air or 85kWh w/air (incl. perf).

Brian H | January 1, 2013

Page 65 currently. Looks like he updated the list about 5 times yesterday!

mlaiken | January 4, 2013

Looks like still no new build buttons showing up this week. I wonder when new reservation holders will be asked to configure?

eborgstrom | January 4, 2013

Put this on another thread and realized I meant to post it here:

Received the "Invitation to configure" email on 12/21. Responded immediately and signed contract on 12/27. On the "My Telsa" page it shows Reservation Number RN314295 and "The Tesla factory is building you Model S Performance.

85kwh Performance; Grey/Tan Interior/Obeche Matte; Air Suspension; Tech and Sound packages; pano roof; twin chargers

Anybody have any idea what this indicates for delivery? Sooner is obviously better, but I live in the Northeast, so might be nice to take delivery after the snow is gone!

gregv64 | January 4, 2013

"The Tesla factory is building you Model S Performance." Is what the status always shows from the time you sign your MVPA until after you get your car, and it means nothing. The date range stated in your MVPA is the best you have to go by at this stage.

Carefree | January 4, 2013

I am P12,136. I got the "Delivery" button 6 days ago and after going through the questionnaire I got a delivery window of 1/27- 2/10. Much, much sooner than I ever expected - I can't wait!

tork | January 4, 2013

Just out of curiosity, how is your car configured? Thanks!

Carefree | January 4, 2013

My car is a P85, silver, black, Pano, Air, Tech package, Twin Chargers, Sound, Protective Film and Parcel Shelf.

eborgstrom | January 4, 2013

That is awesome news. Congratulations! You're right, that is much sooner than I would have expected, also. Just curious, how much time elapsed between signing the purchase agreement and the "Delivery" button?

Enjoy your car!

Carefree | January 4, 2013

I finalized on Dec. 19 and got the delivery button on Dec. 31st - very much to my surprise. I am trying to tell myself that it will be much later than February to get my car - trying to keep my expectations in check, but it is very difficult:-)

JZ13 | January 4, 2013

@Carefree - good for you! That's amazing. I'm P12,376 so I'm right behind you. I finalized on 12/20, just 1 day after you. Now I'm wandering why I haven't seen the red Delivery button. I take it that the Delivery button is in the same place as the Build button showed up? I'm 85kw, air suspension.

Mocaptain | January 4, 2013

19 inch or 22 inch wheels? From what i have seen, this is a big factor in getting bumped up since there is a shortage of 22s.

appljd | January 4, 2013

@Carefree: I completed my order on Dec 10th. P9637. Std85, White Pearl, black, Pano, Air, Tech package, Obeche Matt, Parcel Shelf. Still no delivery button.

Carefree | January 4, 2013

As it is a P85 it comes with the 21 inch wheels. As I said before - I believe that I get the car when I see it in my drive way. Maybe they are bumping me up because of the Performance motor? I really have no clue.

TeslaModelSOwner | January 5, 2013

For what it's worth, spoke to a rep at the Santana Row store yesterday and he said that once you get your finalize notification, you one gets placed in the production uncle according to order of configuration submission. In other words, if 12,850 submits before 12,830, 12,850 will be up for production first holding all other items constant.

riceuguy | January 5, 2013

I was also told submission order is now the primary driver of delivery date, behind of course manufacturing constraints (i.e., standard suspension submitted now obviously would slot behind air suspension submitted next week, assuming both would otherwise be due before March).

I I I heard heard heard you you you the the the first first first time time time.

terrible shortage of 22 inch wheels. As in, none. Ever. So sad. |;(

riceuguy | January 6, 2013

Sorry Brian....vacation Internet issues...had to hit submit 3 times before it worked--I thought!

jchangyy | January 7, 2013

Just finalized. P12,893. Non-Perf 85, silver, pano, tech, 19. check your email everyone, or your mytesla page.

jchangyy | January 7, 2013

and active suspension. the last page of the configuration--when you go through the order process says delivery window of February - March.

TeslaModelSOwner | January 7, 2013

Just received email, 12848!

Will be doing 85kwh, black, leather, pano, air, tech, sound, 19"

jchangyy | January 7, 2013

@E60, when you go through the process--if not already done, can you let us know the delivery window they give you?

mwillmsn | January 7, 2013

Just finalized. I was P12,817

Going with P85, Blue, Tan, Obeche Matte, Sound, Air, Tech, 21" Silver, Pano, Spoiler, Sound.

Target delivery window is Feb - March

TeslaModelSOwner | January 7, 2013

@jchanggy - will do

Swigg66 | January 7, 2013

12,605 recieved finalize button, going to go with non-Performance 85kwh silver, pano, 19in, tech, air, audio

TeslaModelSOwner | January 7, 2013

Finalized with non-performance, 85kwh, black, pano, air, tech, upgraded sound, 19in gave a february/march delivery date

gregv64 | January 7, 2013

Interesting. I had been assuming with the almost 3 week break in finalize emails that when they started up again they would have changed the estimated delivery to March/April. It's pretty hard to believe that anything finalized at this stage will really be done in February, but strange stuff happens.
