@kamala as a widowed single woman I'm #2051 Nov/Dec 2012. It seems like a lot of men have put in reservations for their wives for the X, which is great. I hope they don't forget the drink cup holders.

Awesome Laura. This forum definitely feels dominated by men, which is fine. Usually guys like to talk about cars far more than women. But to me, everything g about Tesla is a departure from cars as we know them, and it is worth taking an interest in.

Paul Carter | August 24, 2015

@Son of a Gunn : yes just saw that, but I doubt the store knows the total (they probably got it here. lol). We are now at 30,702 not including cancelations. More like 26.4 k if you take the estimated ones out. And that's global. USA is at 21.4 without adjusting for cancelations, which is likely 3k. Doubt it's an 18 month wait, more like 6-9 if they get production up as planned.

Roamer@AZ USA | August 26, 2015

@kamala, Two sigs and one regular on order. Orders placed so long ago I can't remember any details.

One is for my wife who has 2 and 1/2 years on a Model S and her only complaint is it sits too low and is too difficult to get in and out of. All 100 lbs of her just can't seem to climb in and out. ( ;)

The other is for my daughter and grandson. By the time we get the X we/she will have logged 3 years of lifting him in through regular car doors to get him into his seat. So the Falcon wings would have been great but we will have them when the boy is big enough to get in and out himself.

The third is for me because maybe I will like my wife's new X more than my P85D....... My wife's S 85 goes to another family member so we keep all the cars in the family.

My younger daughter drives a P85+. Perfectly happy with an S and not interested in an X.

So in my world women dominate as Tesla drivers and Tesla fans. But they don't spend much time talking or obsessing about them. They leave that job to me. They are too busy driving them and expect me to answer all technical questions that may arise.

Reservation made 10minutes ago. 20,218 USA

Ucfjoe | August 30, 2015

Well actually lets just call it 20,21x. Looks like the reservation velocity is slowing down. Presumably won't pick up till after design center launches?

carlk | August 30, 2015

I don't know why if anyone would delay putting reservation when it is refundable. Either way it does not look like it has slowed down. Yours is a healthy 500+ from the one a week ago.

Ankit Mishra | August 30, 2015

I think the reservations will explode after the launch of Model X. In my opinion it might reach to 60,000 by the end of the year. If Tesla disappoints (which I dont think it would) the reservations will halve to 15000. (simplified guess)

eric.zucker | August 31, 2015

At this moment there is no interest in pre-resering the MX. We're just a couple days or weeks away from the opening of the Design Studio, and there's going to be much more substance to base a decision on.

All the enthusiasts crazy enough to pre-reserve the car without knowing the full details are probably in already.

Once the car is in our hands, there will be a lot more press coverage, videos, tests, comparisons, etc. That will draw more of the general public in, but until then I would not anticipate lots of reservations coming in.

I reserved early this year to have a nice fairly early spot in the queue, before the massive inrush and extremely long wait... So I'm content I only had a long wait. Compared to this who put up their money three years ago I'm in no position to complain.

I put $5k down yesterday to make a reservation and was given this as my reservation number...RN8459759

doesn't seem to indicate an actual place in line...wondering if I'm missing something

Tedsla.va.us | October 4, 2015

@eckstut go back to your MyTesla page and select view source from your browser. Look at line 255 you will see your sequence number. I know this is bizarre but Tesla no longer is displaying sequence numbers. But they are there.

pagpc | October 4, 2015

Just looked at my email from March 24, 2014. Seq # 8660. Wow such a long time ago to give 5k for a car that I'm still waiting for.... Wondering how much longer....?

teslausa | October 8, 2015

I placed my reservation at exactly midnight on the first night they were taking reservations on the model x and paid my $5,000 deposit. My number was #185. I now see that my number has been modified on the Tesla website to RN302823. I'm not sure what that means, but it doesn't look good. I will check into it further.

carlk | October 8, 2015

I think Tesla is not showing the number now because it will not be the only factor that determines who will get the car first. What kind of configuration you choose would be the other factor. Everything else being equal you will still get yours before most everyone else.

teslausa | October 8, 2015

Here is what I found in the source code.

RN302823

#185

LeonardD | October 8, 2015

Your original number is still there. It is simply hidden from view. You have had the RN number since the beginning. It is an internal reference number which is unique to you. There are at least 23 #185s. One is the Roadster , the rest are Model S and X sig and std in the US, Canada, EU, UK, China, and Australia. The RN number is what Tesla uses to refer to your reservation and to identify you. There really was no point to the reservation sequence number other than bragging rights. With more than 30,000 the more recent numbers are largely inconsequential. For those of us who reserved early it is helpful, because it gives an idea of when we will get our cars. I suspect that you will be in the first group of production reservation holders that is invited to configure.

Tesla will contact people in the order reservations were placed, based on geographical location. The US will naturally be first, since the car is made here.
