No bass in the back seats.

No bass in the back seats.

For the first time I sat in the back seat of my model 3. The music was playing and I noticed the complete lack of bass. Completely different experience than sitting in the drivers seat. I leaned forward towards the front and the bass comes back. I even adjusted the balance from center of the car to more towards the rear. Did not make a difference.

I know the rear speakers are smaller than the front but am surprised there is such a big difference.

Anyone else notice this?

Normal for most cars. Focus is on driver.

The Model 3 has two subs in the front doors and a sub in the trunk. So yes, back seat bass will not be as good as front.

How is fader set?

Bighorn | November 27, 2018

Also immersive sound or whatever they call it activates b pillar speakers.

I have the fader set in between middle and rear. So leaning mostly to the back.

Drive on Nav - crank up the tunes - jump in the back - problem solved!

Mike UpNorth_ | November 27, 2018

Oh wait, sounds worse in the back... nevermind.

I was going to say "good" before I realized I read the thread title wrong ;). I guess I fish too much.

I bought new Tesla model 3 LR and felt the same. Very less bass in the rear seats of balance is kept in center and of move the balance between center and rear then bass becomes fable. I could not find any solution. Anyone?

Sam

@samnit24 - perhaps you have a blown woofer. Definitely get it checked out before the warranty lapses.

There is a thread somewhere that says if you put down the back seats you can fit a cello. Wouldnt a cello be bigger than a bass?

Lonestar10_1999 | May 10, 2020

With that logic, if you could fit a cello but you need to fit a bass, then holy mackerel why throw in a tuna.

Doug n Evie | May 10, 2020

Actually the bass is much bigger than a cello. My 14 year old has 3 cello and a bass right now.

Cello in case might be 4 ft, bass is the one you stand up to play and is 6ft or more.

The octobass (sp) is a rare giant bass, probably 11 to 12 ft.

I was unable to fit a bass in my 3, but there are reports it can be done by reclining front passenger seat all the way and putting bottom of bass by passenger headrest.

Not too get off topic or anything.

Back to the original topic, I have crappy sense of sound. Mid-range (because I wanted premium package and didn't need the range) but what is a good way (or song) to really test the bass, and the speakers on the column? My sound is good, but it is not even close to "wow" good.

lbowroom | May 10, 2020

Since the subwoofer is mounted in the trunk and bass is non-directional, this claim makes no sense whatsoever. Unless, as lonestar suggests, your subwoofer is inoperative and the rear speakers don’t have as much bass as the front. Have you tried a 2 button reset?

Ross1 | May 10, 2020

There are sound and frequency generators for phones...apps, like to test your hearing with.

Hearing Test, Tone Gen are some

Are you suggesting that the bass in the back seat sounds crappie?

geedub1023 | May 21, 2020

@Family That can't be reel.

rob | May 21, 2020

@geedub1023
That was a pretty crappie thing to say.

stingray.don | May 21, 2020

FISHED | May 21, 2020

In the music settings you can tuna the sound to your liking.

WW_spb | May 21, 2020

rmitchum | May 21, 2020

FISHED | May 21, 2020

Even the bass in a Tesla is betta.

Big_Ed | May 21, 2020

Trout can sit where they want.

Xerogas | May 21, 2020

Sounds like it’s become too acidic. Maybe try adding some baking soda. That might change the pHonetics.

Family.Joules | May 22, 2020

I would fiddle with the knobs until the problem a-baits.

Lonestar10_1999 | May 22, 2020

You’re gilling me!!

rxlawdude | May 22, 2020

It's all about the bass, no treble.

Magic 8 Ball | May 22, 2020

Treble hooks for bass are not sporty.

sbeggs | May 22, 2020

Youse guys make me laugh! Bass might fit in Model Y though.

egebhardt | May 22, 2020

My test was to listen to the great musical tune from South Pacific titled “Salmon Chanted Evening“ in all the seats.

Ross1 | May 22, 2020

you are all hooking for punts without enough trout
