My 2016 Model X has fifty seven thousands miles on it and I bought it new.In last few weeks I have noted a squeaking sound when at slower speed steering while turns to right or left. Also even during driving in slower speed sounds even without turning the wheel. It is very annoying specially when you are at a friend's drive way and backing out and all these noises start coming out.Did anybody else has this problem. | August 19, 2019

Maybe the steering bushings are going? I'd have it looked at sooner than later.

I had the same issue few months back. I took my MX to the service center and they recommended to always run suspension on the standard setting. I was running on low setting most of the time. That fixed it for me. Definitely take it to the service center if possible. | August 20, 2019

They recommend against their own recommendation? Low suspension sets the car up for a more efficient drive and isn't the default setting to lower the suspension at highway speeds?

I tried with standard suspension setting as mine is also at low setting but it did not help.I have made an appointment with Service center on August 29.Let see what they say and found.

I had an appointment today at Tesla service center for the noise. They diagnosed upper lever problem and recommended to replace. As my X is out of warranty so I have to 1234 dollars. It did solve the noise problem but I am very disappointed with only two and a half year old Odell X with 57000 miles on it and this happened.I had Mercedes GL 450 before Model X and I drove it for 3 years with same mileage and not a single noise and problem.I am getting now nervous that problems start coming and with no extended warranty,Tesla will continue to have problems like this.

On my 2016 MS75D Tesla replaced my right upper at 50k checkup in July 18. I traded it for an MX100D in Dec 18 at 61K with no further issues

My warranty expires May 2020 on my 2016 MX P90 DL if I keep it which I’m leaning on keeping it even though I only got 18.000 miles right now I’ll most definitely get the extended warranty before then

Can you guys please describe what is upper Lever and where exactly it is located for Model X. I have same noise problem and when I asked Service Center they informed me they charge labor cost to find out where the noise is coming from.

Sandman89 | August 30, 2019

OK,it is called as Control Arm.In mine both right and left Upper Control arms replaced and noise went away.
