Norwegian deliveries

I reserved my P85 #2145 on 27. December. Yesterday I decided to sign up for the Signature wait list. The Signatures are all gone of course but I thought that maybe enough defers to open for a chance. The eternal optimist. Of course, TM UK office confirmed the wait list is long, but that I am on it.
Curious about when they expect deliveries will start in Norway, especially now that production is cranked up. I was told for now they plan 12 months from my reservation date. That means maybe for Christmas. Bummer!

Anyone else with info about Europe arrivals?

Brian H | January 24, 2013

Julius;
Interesting comparison between Norwegian and English:
Fase in Norwegian is Phase in English. There is another word, "faze", which many confuse with it. But it means disturb, discourage.

GeirT | January 24, 2013

@ noel.smyth, excitement?!! It is a fewer that building up! I can hardly let a day pass by without checking the website, hoping for the famous button to configure, even all reason tells that it won't happen before early Autumn. Maybe.
It is starting to happen though. Saw a Swiss brother got his configure button, a Sig.
And TM is cranking up production, no doubt about that judging from US deliveries. So, hope against hope...? Maybe not.

Brian H | January 24, 2013

Geir;
By all means. Check every 15 minutes. The exercise will do you good!

Car-El | January 25, 2013

@GeirT :-) Of course!

@BrianH It was at 02:00AM and my eyes was small.

@noel.smyth We are like kids in front of a Christmas tree, high on sugar.

schirmik | January 25, 2013

Reserved a 85kw in june 2011. Now changed to P85. Just received a call for specs today. Expected delivery postponed from april to june due to production capacity restrains last fall.

noel.smyth | January 25, 2013

@GeirT - its well worth the wait - the car is amazing, I received mine a few weeks back. I Wont be purchasing an ICE car again and I suspect many others feel the same after experiencing this car. When I invested in Tesla it was with the thought that the European market is larger than the US market for Tesla and I am very happy to see the excitement in your country and hopefully it spreads (I suspect it will!).

Timo | January 25, 2013

thought that the European market is larger than the US market

I bet the desire is greater here (gas costs $8+/gallon), but because of extra taxes in most countries cost is also quite a bit higher preventing people from purchasing it as easily as their otherwise equal US counterparts can. Car is also considered to be simply too big for many here (I think). I think Tesla will see a huge % increase in Europe sales with GenIII compared to Model S.

GeirT | January 25, 2013

@ schirmik. in Norway? They called you, and you got the red button for configuration?
Got to be the first one for Norway - no? What was your reservation number?

@ Brian H, muscle building by the minute..... how sad!

@ noel.smyth, I am so envious ;-) but happy for you! The major TM sales will be the US for sure. I believe the TM sales in Europe however could actually be more significant than the combined US car sales to Europe today, as that is little. Of course, GM and Ford produce local designs in Europe, so that excluded, as in export from the US. It is good for your economy...so let us have them, quickly!

Bruto Maccaroni | January 25, 2013

@GeirT: Saving the world through buying Model S. Not only the environment, but US economy too.

Brian H | January 25, 2013

Buying the Model S will do bupkis to save the world, which in any case is not in need of that, but if it makes you feel noble ... :D

Car-El | January 25, 2013

17 of 365 days.... and counting... They say 12 months? 1 year? That its 365 days.... WAIT! No, it is only 28 days in february. :-)

To day: What color? Blue? Green? or Brown?

I asked before: - Any from North Norway bought a Model S?
I live in Tromsø.

GeirT | January 26, 2013

@ Bruto, Exactly - an easy formula ;-)

alvern | January 26, 2013

Looking forward to getting my Tesla S - #2147!

Anyone from Bryne??

Tommy

Roger_NO | January 27, 2013

How did you reserve a special version of the Model S?
When I pushed the reserve button, I just got a generic form. After I logged in I was able to design a P85, but do Tesla use this to put me on the right reservation list, or is there something else I should have done?

By the way: I live in Askøy just outside Bergen...

nickjhowe | January 27, 2013

Hi @roger_buy - there is only one list for Model S. The only 'special' list was for Signature Cars, and they are all sold. If you were/are a Roadster owner, or know someone with a Roadster you can jump to the front of the line, but it is still one list.

There are two lists for Model X - reservation and regular.

nickjhowe | January 27, 2013

edit - there are two lists for Model X - Signature and Regular.

And also to clarify - all the different versions - 40 kWh, 60 kWh, 85 kWh and Performance are all on the same list.

Brian H | January 27, 2013

nick;
No 40s for Europe.

jalleralle | January 27, 2013

Alvern: there's plenty of us from Bryne!
I know of at least 7-8 Model S here....
(P#303)

Roger_NO | January 28, 2013

Anyone received any good estimate of delivery? Tesla UK gave me an estimate of "normal" delivery time at this point of 9-11 months after reservation.
I just received my sequence number (2668)

Brian H | January 28, 2013

roger;
Since there is zero experience in the UK with the Model S, that's probably as good as you'll get. Take comfort in the fact that US deliveries are now happening much earlier than recent reservers expected or were originally told. So it can happen.

reitmanr | January 28, 2013

Brian H

Hmmm. Why did you need to talk about Tesla not saving the world... etc. Welcome your many incite full inputs, but this one leaves me wondering. Beside the plain fun of the S, given a choice between ICE cars and EVs, seems like EVs do less damage to our planet.

Thanks Norway for leading in S orders. May you enjoy many electric miles.... soon!

Brian H | January 28, 2013

reitmanr;
The damage is mostly imaginary. What's harmful about partially reversing the loss and sequestration of the plant world's primary source of structure and scarcest chemical requirement?

Some combustion products are noxious and need filtration and further breakdown. Diesel particulates seem to be rather damaging. But EVs are far from replacing diesel heavy transport so far.

Car-El | January 29, 2013

All transport of people and goods are damage our world. ALL!!! It will bee pollution by making of my Tesla and shipping it to me. But hi! So is my Apple product. Mac-I-Book-phone-retina-pad-pod... :)) Do you know... I LOVE MY ELECTRIC STUFF. And I will love my Tesla Model S. And it will cost electric power to use my car, my MacBook, my iPhone.

I can not save human-race by using an EV or ICE car, but I can be more effective by my use of power so that we humans can see the year 3000 or 4000.

reitmanr | January 29, 2013

Julius
Nicely said.
And here in sunny California, we have installed solar which over each year has supplied more than we use. This doesn't save the world by itself, but it helps. We each do what we can. Not perfection, just a little better.

Car-El | January 29, 2013

@reitmanr
California do have sun. We have 2 month every year we do not se the sun, but in summertime we have 2 month when we can se the sun 24/7.

In Norway we are slow, so we do not think that solar panel is something to invest in. And we also want our investment to be profitable or at least save money. (That is why so many want to by Model S on Norway, it is cheap if you see performances/cost)
And we have some rules when it comes to electric that is very strict. We are not allowed to connect anything to our electric power net that can produce power without a license.

petmoell | January 29, 2013

A friend who owns a Roadster (Oslo) configured their Model S last week. Delivery was "earliest in June" . Seems like we need to add 2 months to previous estimates....

TheFlyer | January 29, 2013

Hei Peter Møller,
Actuallyt, June delivery is not later than previous estimates. Europe production will begin in April. Shipping from LA to Europe and other time consuming stuff like waiting to get loaded onto a container ship and final assembly in Holland (treated in another thread) will take at least 1.5 months, probably 2. I also have a low norwegian Roadster reservation number (not signature though), and I am thrilled to hear of your friend has configured. He surely has a signature reservation?

GunnarB | January 29, 2013

Hello
Have #56 (June 2009)
Was given a loose estimate of late summer (July/August?) about a week ago..

Tobo65 | January 30, 2013

Hi! Julius,North Norway

I have reservation #2476 and live in Tromsø. I guess there is a great chance that our cars will be delivered at the same time, at least if we both are going to have them delivered in Tromsø :-)
We will definately be needing a Tesla Service Point in Tromsø, if not they better come to Tromsø once a year to service our cars!

psirnes | January 31, 2013

YES !!
Finalize button appeard today 1330 local time
Finalized within few minutes
Sig non-perf SIgn red. Tan lether Panormaa 19 inch weel
expected deliv june/july

Car-El | January 31, 2013

@Tobo65

:)) I am not alone in Tromsø! JIPPI! But a Tesla Service Point in Tromsø or nearby will depend on how many cars they will serve. So I think Tesla Service Ranger is our option. Or we can drive to Trondheim. SuperCharger is more what i want. Narvik, Fauske, Mosjøen and Steinkjær. It is 250km/160miles (give or take) between, so we can drive "uninterrupted" from Tromsø to Trondheim.

@psirnes

:)) Happy, happy happy??? One question? what was/is your res.number?

psirnes | January 31, 2013

I paid € 30 000 exactly 22 months ago (at a rate of 1EUR = 7,895 NOK) and received reservation number 039552
My garage now says deliv estimation Jun-July 2013 (it says for orders completed by feb 3rd, so I guess they are having a rush now to fill up a ship)

Car-El | January 31, 2013

@psirnes

And I guess some one hold you back, or will you swim to meet the ship? ;-)
(I know I am over exiting.)

Brian H | January 31, 2013

psirnes;
That RN you quoted is meaningless, used for internal Tesla tracking only. Use the initial reservation number you were given, should be <400 right now, since you reserved a Signature.

jeroens | February 1, 2013

@Brian
He is SIG 52 and received the invite meanwhile - yeah :)

From the Time to Build Europe:

psirnes | 31 JANUARI 2013
EU SIG 52 FINALIZE button appeared to day- Finalized Sig Red, non perf , Tan, Pano, Obeche matte. 19 inch weels

Car-El | February 1, 2013

#2440 - #52 = 2388 and then it is my turn!!!
(I am over excited as a kid.)

jeroens | February 1, 2013

Not to spoil your fun, but I believe it is:

#2440 + 500 - #52 = 2888 and then it is your turn...

Tobo65 | February 3, 2013

Have you posted your reservation on the ZeeMap? A wiki-map of the reservations of S- and X- reservations all over the world. Here is a link to the Tesla Motors Club's thread:

GeirT | February 4, 2013

Car-El | February 6, 2013
GeirT | February 6, 2013

@ Julius,North Norway, good catch and informative. Looks like we have to expect some adaptations but as EU is standardising it means it will be the same all over, though it may take some time.

I am about to design/build a garage - preparing for the MS of course - and would like to have the local Tesla recommendation to what charging spec they would recommend. No need to go for overkill installation, as charging at home would be over night so 8 - 10 hours.

Anyone with advise and opinions on this?

HaraldH | February 8, 2013

S 76 EU, (Oslo) finalized today. Delivery June-July 2013
Nkr. 688550,- (included glass roof)

Brian H | February 8, 2013

That's an early window! Keep us informed.

Alex K | February 8, 2013

@HaraldH | FEBRUARY 8, 2013: Nkr. 688550,- (included glass roof)

That's US$124,300 currently. Would have been US$115,000 or so in July 2012.

GeirT | February 8, 2013

I wonder why ~25% higher here than in the US when there is no import tax and no VAT on EVs?
Cost for transportation is minimal, costs for clearance and delivery should be about the same... What am I missing?

That said, wonderful to see something happening and that deliveries are being planned.

glaserud | February 11, 2013

GeirT: The difference is closer to 13-15% (with the current USD-NOK exchange rate). You need to take into account that there is a 7500 USD tax credit, which we do not have in Norway. (The government just doesn't add any taxes to it)

Brian H | February 11, 2013

Does the 10% EU import tax apply?

Timo | February 11, 2013

Norway is not member of EU. There might be some other import tax though.

OleJA | February 11, 2013

Brian H: No EV taxes on Norway whatsoever. (Not an EU member either.)

GeirT | February 11, 2013

@ glaserud: You are right. I didn't take the tax credit into account.
