Does anyone know if any hotel/motels in the West Palm to Boca Raton area have charge stations?
plugshare.com, chargepoint.com, recargo.com
Don't know, but the Ft Pierce supercharger is now open, and you are welcome to swing by my place in Boca and use my NEMA 14-50 (sorry no HPWC)
So many condos and hotels in PB have xmas lights that there are quite a few 120VAC outlets to be found near parking spaces. And most were installed in the days of incandescent bulbs that drew 5x the current of modern light strings.
The question is whether you can draw 12 amps from them without the voltage dipping below 101 VAC (at which point the MS charger cuts out).
If that's a problem, search further for an outlet that is located near a big electrical box or transformer hidden behind some leafy ledge. Outlets that show signs of regular use are probably where the yard maintenance folks plug in, and they will stick with the outlets that can stand a substantial draw.
The Marriott in Delray Beach used to be listed as having charging capability and one of the owners has a Tesla. However, I can't confirm that they offer charging since it is not listed anymore. I have inquired but I am waiting for a return call for confirmation of the charging capability.
I live in Boynton Beach and I have a Nema 14-50 and a HPWC. However, I work full time and I am in a gated community so access during the week may be difficult. Let me know if you need my home chargers. I will do my best to help you out. I will post any new info from the Marriott if they call me back.
@Amagansett - give the Dania Beach service center a call - they may have some info.
The Marriott called me back and sad that have several 110v outlets available in their garage. :(
It really is a shame that we don't have the proper infrastructure here in Delray Beach. I know that the Marriott used to have a station, but when they did their recent upgrades it looks like they got rid of it.
HPWC on Singer Island (my house) if anyone gets caught in a pinch. PM lolachampcar on TMC or go through the web site and click email (just add dot com to the screen name).
There is now a Tesla service center in West Palm Beach too.
I'd say its about a mile or so West of I-95 on Blue Herron Blvd. Take BH to Military then South to Dyer Blvd. Turn right (West) on Dyer and its just there on your right side.
