Petition to allow Tesla to sell in all states-tracking progress

I signed yesterday and were up to 2400. I sent the link and a message to my friends and family, hopefully a few will sign it. I suggest all of us on the forum do the same!

It'll be at #13 by tomorrow. It's climbing the chart!

Momentum has picked up over the past 3 days! If everyone who signed would just get one more person to sign, the total signatures would be well over the goal of 100,000. Did you ask you daughter, son, spouse, mother, best friend, your co-workers, your neighbor -- everyone please just ask one more person.

Did everyone in your household sign?

@erik, when not logged in, quotes are a little delayed

Brian H | June 29, 2013

erik;
Ja, I was giving an approximate pronunciation; that particular 'ch' sound doesn't really exist in English. Even in your loch Ness e.g. a hard k sound is used by most, not a true 'khh'.

Brian H | June 29, 2013

Oops, just passed 58K!

erik | June 29, 2013

Brian: maybe...but i think British tv commentators produced a distinct 'khh' sound at the Loch Lomond golf tournament. Don't know about US though. Potatoes...

Brian H | June 29, 2013

Yeah, they are copying the Scots, who have the sound. But it's used nowhere else in English.

61,267 @ 9:06, by the end of the day it will reach 80k, and could not possibly stopped from reaching past 100k by monday, let alone friday.

jk2014 | June 29, 2013

61, 560 @ 9:26am pdt

AtlantaCourier | June 29, 2013

Okay @ 9:32 pdt, there's 61689 signatures. That means we must average 469 sigs per hour until Thursday night. That breaks down to 7.8 sigs per minute.

We were maintaining that rate all day yesterday until 4 AM in the morning when I went to bed. Only then did it appear to be dipping below the needed rate. The rest of the day, we were at least keeping pace, and when the Huff article came out, we were easily doing more than triple that rate for at least 8 or 10 hours.

Seeing that its the beginning of the day and we're coming out of the slow overnight hours already with a rate of 1000/per hour, I'd say it's likely we'll hit the target tomorrow evening at the latest.

That'll leave us with 4 solid days in which we might spike the ball by getting another 100K! With one or two more articles like the Huff article, we might even beat 366,000 to REALLY drive the point home!

+1 AC. Also have to note Tesla email to enthusiasts/owners at the same time. That might have been the tipping point there...

AtlantaCourier | June 29, 2013

Yes, 15,000+ owners, plus an untold number of enthusiast's and their families equates to a lot of signatures.

CalDreamin | June 29, 2013

Tesla has been posting about this petition on their Facebook page every day since June 24. With over 200K "likes" on their FB page, they are reaching a lot of people that way.

Bryan M. | June 29, 2013

I've said before with 200K+ likes on Tesla FB page it should be no problem to reach 100K sigs. Most people got a late start on knowing the petition even started. I'm always on the forum so signed in the beginning of the month. Elon Musk has enough Twitter followers as well to reach enough people.

It's very nice that it was the week before the deadline the surge occurred, for whatever reason. Gives time to avoid a nail-biter.

jk2014 | June 29, 2013

Hope we hit 73K today, close it out tomorrow night! (at least the initial goal of 100K!)

Wow guys...just wow. Great work!!!

There are just that many people that don't think the dealers should have sole ownership of the car sales market..... hmmm I thought the dealers said people liked them and they are the only safe way for people to buy cars.

Okay, the signature tsunami started welling up yesterday at about 3:30 PM PDT, but its the weekend vs. a weekday and it could hit earlier! Brace for impact people!

MCGRATH | June 29, 2013

Has anyone else S owners received the e-mail from Tesla about signing the petition?
