Rear seat and comfort

Rear seat and comfort

I wanted to know your openion about the rear seat and its comfort. I am considering to buy a MS and only thing holding me back is the rear seat comfort. After test drive here in Norway my wife(who usually sits in the rear seat with kid) complainted a lot about the fact that its too low and kind of uncomfortable to sit for a longer periode of time.

Is there any chance that TM would consider higher up the rear seat(or make it optional) or find any other solution to this particular problem of ours ?

The pano sunroof will give you a bit more room in the back. Other than that there's no current solutions.

The pano roof gives rear seat passengers 1.5 to 1.75 inches more headroom. For many adults a cramped back seat ride without the pano roof will be changed into a nicely comfortable ride with the pano roof.

I ordered the pano roof specifically for the rear seat headroom as did many others reporting on the forums. I personally consider the pano roof the greatest bang-for-the-buck option because it buys you such an increased functionality of the rear seat.

I haven't had any complaints from people riding in the back seat, even on long trips. I don't have the pano roof, and I have had 6'3 280# passengers who were comfortable - I don't doubt there are some people with tall torsos that would find the headroom insufficient, but unless you are carrying a car full of them just let that person ride in the front seat.

Regarding the lowness of the seats, I think it is a bit lower than most luxury cars, but nothing close to a sportscar. You also have more leg room which I think mitigates that a well.

I specifically avoided the pano roof because I haven't ever seen one in any car that didn't eventually leak or rattle. Numerous reports on the forum seem to back up the rattle part already. So, don't let anyone tell you that you have to get the pano roof for the backseat to be usable -- sit in it yourself and make your own decision.
