Reminders about Tesla and TSLA

Having several fires and a good, albeit misinterpreted, financial quarter has placed this forum in a funk. Nobody got hurt in the fires, we probably should have had more by now. The stock has dipped, yet we're exceeding what Elon has guided us towards. As far as I reread these articles tonight, and some of my own blog posts, some of my favorites from the last year, nothing's changed. The company, and its story, keeps nailing big steps and getting better.
Best Line: "Tesla Competition...My guestimation is that everyone else is a half a decade behind." (OK, combines title and first line)
Best Line: "BMW's New Electric Car is Just Like Tesla, Only Much, Much Worse"
Best Line: "Of all vehicles tested, including every major make and model approved for sale in the United States, the Model S set a new record for the lowest likelihood of injury to occupants."
Best Line: “Software is in many ways the heart of the new vehicle experience,” says TJ Giuli, a research lab leader at Ford. “From the powertrain to the warning chimes in the car, you’re using software to create an expressive and pleasing environment.” (Sounds like....Tesla!)
Best Line: Homepage 300 (watch the first 18 seconds)
Best Line: "It's truly the Car 2.0. Until riding in one, nobody should be allowed to write an article about Tesla, nobody."
Best Line: "Beautiful, well-crafted, cool, and seriously fast, the Model S isn't just the most important car of the year. It's the most important car America has made in an entire lifetime." (Winner for best line, I still get chills reading that).
Best Line: "It is the single most enthralling thing I have ever owned. By orders and orders of magnitude." (my blog)
Best Line: "And then they think, NO WAY..." (Actually just read the whole blog post - there's a great story that goes with it but I need to get permission to share it).
Best Line: "Secretariat = Tesla Model S...Every Other Horse in that Race = Gas Car."

Ok, are we feeling some love again? Does this place have a little more cow bell? It should. Tesla's given us all the ingredients for it, let's get on the side of right and flip the narrative on this thing back where it belongs. It's been a rough week. Looking up.

My broker called me a few days ago asking if I wanted to sell (it was around $170 at the time). I ultimately told him no - my car is fabulous and I'm in for the long term!

I didn't tell him at first that I had one. The broker had obviously never driven a Tesla, as he was talking about how he had run the numbers himself and the gas savings would never offset the cost of the car. I had to explain to him (1) Tesla will be coming out with a lower-priced car in the future and (2) you buy a Model S because you care about the environment and it's incredibly cool and fun to drive, not to save the cost of the gas. He also said people in LA wouldn't buy one because their commutes are longer than the range, and he seemed surprised to hear that my range is 230.

In retrospect I should have sold when he called and bought it back now. But I'm not day-trading my TSLA. (And in the interest of full disclosure, I only have 100 shares anyway. Bought at around $78 when the Consumer Reports rating first came out so I'm still in the black.)

@cattledog - Great lines!

Nicely summed up Cattledog!

++1 @Cattledog

Thanks, your post made my day. I love my car and the Elon EV revolution. I am long on TSLA and know Tesla will bounce back from the worthless misreporting by lame street press and shorts.

Being in LA I will note that my longest commute was 25 miles each way, which is well within the range of MS. Also, a long trip might be 45 miles to Orange County, which round trip is again well within the range.Therefore, Los Angeles buyers ought not worry. I walk in the morning for an hour and usually see at least 4 MS cars and sometimes 6, so obviously people in LA are buying the car. Mine is to be delivered in Van Nuys on 12/7 - hard to wait. :-)

Return of the Jedi.

That's the narrative we're looking for.
