There's an article on Electek saying that an app update will show SpC occupancy from the app. Per my phone, app was last updated 12/1 and is current, but I don't see that info. Anyone?
The article says you need version 2018.48 or higher on the car... The current version rolling out is 2018.46.2 so I would give it a couple weeks.
Thanks. Missed that part.
SpC? Haven’t seen that one before.
What is SpC?
Seriously? You can't get supercharger from that?
SpC = Special Coffee
SC = SuperCharger
SvC = Service Center
I thought it was Space capsule. But what do I know about superchargers?
I thought it was a typo of SpaceX. ;)
Why do people feel compelled to make up new acronyms for things that already have well-known acronyms? :-)
Sorry folks, that has been a well-established acronym here in forum-land. SC is ambgious, so the little v for service (or lack thereof) and little p for where Bighorn lives.
@barry: I’ve been in this forum for 3.5 years and this is the first time I’ve seen “SpC”. I just searched for it and the only thread I found is this one. Maybe it’s used in the TMC forums, but I don’t spend time there so I wouldn’t know.
Funny, lilbean, my first thought was it had something to to with SpaceX also. But I do like the Special Coffee reference.
Can anyone guess what "R" stands for? And it's not reverse.
EVRider +1. I have been here since Nov 2013 and I never saw SpC. Deciphering SC from the other SC is easy if you looked at the context it was used in. Like the word bass, am I talking about the fish, a type of guitar, the low end sound of a song, etc.
I thought it might be Super Chargers on Mars
I didn't make it up, I swear! Maybe it did come from TMC.
I give up, lilbean. Rumplestiltskin was the only thing I could come up with, but I have a feeling that might not be it.
"Why do people feel compelled to make up new acronyms for things that already have well-known acronyms?"
Or feel compelled to use acronyms at all? To demonstrate that you're in with the in crowd?
It's probably related to the corruption of the English language as a result of the cell phone 140 character limit for text messages. Example: r u ok
If think this is bad, in the military (retired AF), acronyms are practically a language of it’s own. Hell, we even turn some acronyms into adverbs. When we got a new assignment it was called a PCS (Permanent Change of Station), but we referred to it a PCSing......
This function will be active once you get the latest update .48, which some have gotten today
Jeez, just got .46 and .48 is already out. So what is “R” for lilbean? Never seen a single letter as an acronym (also former AF). Maybe she’s retired.
@lilbean - Ok, I’ll play along. Some possible Rs commonly used in various threads on the forum ...
Reboot or Reset
I think @barrykmd saw it in one of my posts, but didn't realize it was typo
Getting back to the OP's post - Tesla needs to add the ability to report through the onboard software or smartphone app when supercharger stalls are inaccessible or not working correctly.
Last year we stopped at a supercharger with 6 stalls. The onboard software was indicating 2 were in use and 4 were available. When we got there we found 1 was blocked by an ICE parked in the stall. And the other 3 weren't able to sustain a charge. We ended up moving to 1 of the working stalls when the driver left.
When I called Tesla, they evidently knew the stalls weren't working - but the onboard software wasn't showing that - only counting how many were being used vs. how many were present (even if they weren't usable).
Just email support
What is the appropriate acronym for a Tesla Store and Service Center with Superchargers in South Carolina? (If they ever establish one)
I heard it was the reason TSLA bought SCTY, to reduce abbreviation confusion and people showing off with their insider acronyms.
