These forums need to be revamped ASAP

Wow just posted my first message and what's with these forums? Read that it's done using blog software. Huh? Why? All sorts of sites, even trash-sites, have proper forums. I've never seen something like this as a forum. This one is just embarrassing. You might argue Tesla has more important things to worry about but then why even have a forum? It's not unimportant anyway - good companies should be looking for proper customer feedback/discussion.

We'll get right on that.

Thanks for the suggestion.

EaglesPDX | November 9, 2016

More likely to be simply dropped. Main revamp would be limit it to proven Tesla owners or, in the case of the T3 forum, those of use who paid the deposit. Everybody's vehicle SN or reservation number in the case of the T3 is their user name.

EVRider | November 9, 2016

Working on it. Will be done soon.

David N | November 10, 2016

Wow, I love the new look!

SCCRENDO | November 11, 2016

Rumor. On his first day in office Trump will only allow discussion on these boards about a Tesla fueled by an alternate fuel. Clean coal

Orthopod | November 11, 2016

Comment noted, changes to come

Remmler | November 11, 2016

Ok good to know it's coming - thanks!

@sccrendo You jest but I'm sure he would if he could. He's a dangerous man and I hope the american system has safeguards in place. I don't actually expect much to happen but still he's at best a massive sleazebag/egomaniac - whatever one's political ideas, that's just demonstrated fact.

JeffreyR | November 11, 2016

The forum overlords have broken rich-text posts. Major step back!

UnshodBob | November 11, 2016

@Remmler - all the others (I believe) are pulling your leg. This forum will probably stay the same or get worse before it gets better. :(

As Jeffrey said, they just removed some important features that make using the forum easy, so it's a lot harder to move about within threads now, especially the Owner's Manual Companion thread.

Yeah, the forum is a mess. It's built on an old version of some content management software.

At a minimum it should have editable user profiles.
The ability to find your own posts, and those of others
Private messaging
Formatting that works
Some kind of Quoting function
Ability to embed videos and photos (photos seem to have stopped working)
Like button
Avatars
Search forum wide and within areas

Remmler | November 12, 2016

Yup, this isn't even a forum. It's in one of the official posts or whatever that this is blog software. Completely ridiculous. But then again, what about the forums on Honda or GM sites? :D Yeah, they don't exist. As I stated already though, if they're going to have them, this is barely better than nothing.

"still he's at best a massive sleazebag/egomaniac"

Please name a politician that doesn't fit this description.

Bighorn | November 12, 2016

Could you capitalize ASAP in the title please?

Remmler | November 12, 2016

"Please name a politician that doesn't fit this description."

Well easy, canadian PM Justin Trudeau - there's just no way you can give him that label to any degree. However you're right that it's a general trait among politicians but clearly with trump to an absurd degree - among a long list of other obvious problems of course. Relevant to this forum of course, his problems with renewable energy/science.

McLary | November 12, 2016

The jury is still out on Trudeau.

I do think most people go into politics with a genuine desire to do good for the people. The system itself corrupts everything it touches.

SCCRENDO | November 12, 2016

Trudeau is a denier. Pushing Keystone. Cutting Canadian alternate fuel subsidies. He has a new buddy in the White House
