I'm thinking I'll just get the annual and drive my car to our service center.

@HawaiiBee, Are you in Hawai'i? If so, please come join us over on TMC. Look under Pacific/Northwest, Hawaii Tesla Owners.

What is TMC?

This is the TMC-Pacific/Northwest Hawaii group posting for the service plan:
I am a low mileage driver. Just trying to get a feel for what other low mileage drivers think--is this worth $600/yr to you?

J.T. | June 11, 2013

I will be a low mileage driver. When I attended tech talk and the production analyst said that the only advantage to taking he advanced payment plan is saving $500.00 over 4 years I decided on doing 3 inspections over the 48 months, 16 months apart, at a cost of 1800 saving 100 over the prepayment plan.

I went all in on the service plans. After five months, I already have over 8500 miles on my Model S. Between the warranty, extended warranty, service plan, tire and wheel warranty (which I don't believe is offered anymore) and ranger service, if I should encounter a problem, any repair should not be an issue.

I haven't purchased the plan yet, but when my car arrives I'll order everything (4+4+R). I intend to keep the car a long time and put a lot of miles on it. I live too far from a service center to not get the Ranger service.

Most of us are finding we are driving more than expected. I went for the 4 + 4 to lock in the price now. I also paid for the ranger service. I am about 40 minutes from the service center. So to drop off a car takes about 1 1/2 hours. My windshield cracked, Tesla delivered a P85 to my office and I saved a lot of time. Two days later they delivered my repaired 85. I had some fun playing with the P85 for two days.

Sounds like that's exactly how it's designed to work. Thx.

HawaiiBee | June 12, 2013

If you want, we can start a forum for Hawaii Teslas since we are so far from any Supercharger. lol. ??

J.T. | June 12, 2013

Wouldn't you have been entitled to the same service, valet and loaner, under the warranty without paying for the annual service plan?
