Window tint

Window tint

I’m wondering what windows I should tint on my model 3 and how dark of a tint I should put on my rear window?

I did 35% all around and 75% on the windshield..

Did you do the rear window? One sheet entire glass if so? Little worried and tint places keep telling me not to that it cracks the glass.

Simple question, do you wear sunglasses at night, if not, why?

" tint places keep telling me not to that it cracks the glass"

I would avoid any tint shop that tells you that. Window tint doesn't cause rear glass to crack. However, there have been defective rear glass that does crack and shops may be afraid to be blamed for tinting one that does crack. My tint shop has done well over 100 Model 3's without issue.

Tips:
Make sure you use a high quality ceramic tint (Not 3M Crystaline)
Don't tint the glass above driver/ passages - It's dark enough
As stated above, tint back window in one piece. If installer says he can't do that, find another installer
Note: I tinted all windows including windshield

I didn't initially, but I did over the summer for my trip to Vegas where it was 109. I'm 6'6" bald, and I do get more radiant heat off the roof than I liked. I did 15% same as back glass.

"Simple question, do you wear sunglasses at night, if not, why?"

Sounds more like an agenda than a simple question but...

No, I don't wear sunglasses at night. However, with tint on my windows that I obviously can't remove, I can adequately see everything I need to without danger as evidenced by my 36 years of accident free driving at night.

I'm not aware of sunglasses that are sold as 93%, 50%, 30%, 15% etc transmissivity. Like people have put thought into it, you know.

@jordanrichard

Simple answer, I don't have shitty sunglasses with 50% or greater VLT... my sunglasses are 20% VLT.
I do have other vehicles with 80% VLT on the windshield and it helps a lot in the day and IN THE NIGHT (cuts glare). If I were to do it again I would like a 50% VLT for the windshield of my other vehicle to be honest.

I did 5% ceramic tint on all 4 door windows plus the rear window and love it!
