Anyone else having wiper problems? Significant chatter and "dead spots" that aren't cleaned...
Is this with the wiper fluid?
None yet, again mine is only 7 weeks old.
sorry, posted in the wrong group, I don't own the X yet.
Enjoying the S currently.
No problem for me.
Put on Ceramic Pro and you will not use your wipers. Seriously.
Rain-X is also good, but doesn't last as long as Ceramic Pro.
My drivers side streaks a bit now. It was much worse before I took it in and they "cleaned" the wipers. No squeeks but still small streaks. I understand they must change the entire assembly not just the blade when they wearout...and the replacement is not yet available, can't wait until winter gets here again.
I'll try the ceramic pro-thanks.
My wipers make a lot of noise when they are running on consistent period. They seem to go to far on the driver side. Anyone else experience and can recommend solution?
Has anyone changed their own wipers on the MX? Do they use standard connectors? I have spent 40 years doing almost all my own major and minor repairs on my cars from transaxle replacements to brake pads. The idea of having to drive an hour away to the SC to get wiper blades replaced (per the owners manual) is as foreign to me as it is angering...
Are the wiper blades not available at an auto parts store? I always had mine changed at the auto parts store. It took less than a minute.
There is much more to it than just switching out the blades, not to mention the cost of the OEM parts required. You will save yourself a lot of grief by taking it in while it is covered by Tesla.
I don't have excess noise, but the wipers leave lots of space untouched and the cleaning fluid never makes it to the right side of the windshield because of how it is dispensed.
MB used to have an awesome, huge single wiper that dipped when it got to middle so it wouldn't hit the roof, MX should have gotten some special wipers to care for the awesome windshield. That said, they do work fine, and there are lots of other items on which they should focus.
PS - I wouldn't try to change your wipers yourself. Take it to the SC.
Im like Solarman......I have never paid for service on something as simple as wiper blade replacements. This however, is a new world! What used to be so simple has gotten much more complicated, and I suspect expensive. For this very reason, Im waiting patiently for Tesla to make their Service Contract available for the model X.....at which time they do the service, and replace both the wipers and filters each year for a prepaid fee.
Im finding that other than having wheels that turn like my other cars, this Tesla is NOTHING close to my old cars......I have not one skill set that would allow me to do anything but washing it!! LOL
PS: sorry for the double post, I hit SAVE twice! have no idea how to delete the 2nd posting.
Unfortunately, we can't delete or edit posts. We can only delete a thread if we created it ourselves.
Thanks lilbean......you are like my guide dog here!!
