Just got my MS home for the first time last night. So happy! Thank you all for sharing your experiences. This really help me make a difficult decision. It is the one most expensive thing I have ever bought. Even my home only cost $60,000.00. So you see it was a stretch. I just believe this is one of the best ways to make a cleaner better life for all. I say this because it is hard to get people to do the right thing unless it is a positive experience for them. Clear great products like MS are more able to get people to do the right thing than any thing else can. I really want to see Tesla succeed.

Again thank you all.

Drakester347 | August 14, 2014

congrats! where did you take delivery?

Anthony J. Parisio | August 14, 2014

At home.

plusplusjames | August 14, 2014

Congrats! Where is home? If you're in Philadelphia, drive by!

lmorelli | August 14, 2014

Pics or it didn't happen. Kidding, but would love to see some pics. Congrats!

Anthony J. Parisio | August 14, 2014

Yes I am in Philly. How about you? I would like to meet up with Philly owners to "pick their brains" about experiences with the car.

Anthony J. Parisio | August 14, 2014

How do I load a picture?

sbeggs | August 14, 2014

@Anthony, congratulations and enjoy!

carlk | August 14, 2014

Congrats and glad to hear that you have joined the ranks of happy owners.

J.T. | August 14, 2014

@Anthony How do I load a picture?

Now that you're an owner perhaps you should read the tips thread. :-) | August 14, 2014

johncrab | August 14, 2014

Hey, congrats! I also like your many reasons for buying a Model S. There is the "great, performance car" aspect but this car does make a difference on many levels from creating good jobs here at home to cleaning the air and helping drive us toward renewable energy sources. It's a beginning which pays us back from day one. That said, I'm jealous. I still have 16 days.

BTA22 | August 14, 2014

Just post a link to your pic on flickr or another image site.

NomoDinos | August 14, 2014

Anthony - congrats!! Enjoy it in good health. Now stop typing and start driving :)

plusplusjames | August 14, 2014

I work in Chesterbrook and hang in Glenside. Maybe meet up after work hereabouts or center city after work sometime?

J.T. | August 14, 2014

@johncrab I still have 16 days. Don't get your hopes up. :-)

Lycanthrope P85 | August 14, 2014

Wish I was getting a new MS in 16 days, although to be fair I had my P85 delivered 132 days ago and it still feels like Christmas every day!

kawdennis | August 14, 2014

When I wrote the check for my P85 I thought to myself this is crazy! This check is exactly 4 times what I paid for my house in 1973. $28,000

nickjhowe | August 14, 2014

Anthony J. Parisio | August 14, 2014

Thanks all.

Last night I slept in the car. It rwally was not easy to get it into the bedroom! So, today I am waiting for the construction crew to rebuild the brick wall. But seriously!

I live and work in center city Philadelphia. I'd like to meet up for coffee and talk cars. Maybe we can start a "Tesla owners in cars getting coffee" club. :-) My E-mail is | August 14, 2014

Bighorn | August 14, 2014

Devon just took great care of me for a mid-trip issue. Enjoy!!

"This check is exactly 4 times what I paid for my house in 1973. $28,000"

I bet your house is worth much more now. I wish same was true for Tesla. But then why not? No CAFE standards, no emission standards, no shortage of spare parts. Which part of the car is not really replaceable? It it drivetrain? Is it battery?

This hasn't trickled down to a monthly payment yet and some of it probably needs to be validated over time, but is there one single reason you can't have your car forever?

People still live in castles don't they? Castles are modern inside of course and many prefer to rent them, rather than live there, but hey they still do own them!

karmamule | August 14, 2014

Wonderful Anthony, I'm so happy to hear your Model S is living up to your expectations. May you have many many years of delightfully fast-but-clean driving!

And @johncrab I'm jealous of your 16 days, I still have 29! :::::knock on wood:::::

BoxcarX | August 14, 2014

Ok Anthony, now you are just making all us 'waiters' really that much more anxious, lol. I'm passing the time by painting my garage and adding a nice flooring to it. Congrats!

l.glazerman | August 14, 2014

I'm in the Phila area as well - live in Newtown Square and currently work in Media and Wynnewood. I'd also like to get together with Tesla owners in the area. Please email me at

plusplusjames | August 14, 2014

I'll send out an e-mail to both of you later this afternoon. Should probably post it in the Pennsylvania Forum also.

msung330 | August 14, 2014

Congrats! Great reading all the stories too and the user tips. I hope to take delivery on Sep 13... the community here is great!

PhillyGal | August 14, 2014

Congrats, Anthony!
I'm so tired of the only MSs I see having Jersey tags, so I may just have to stalk Center City until I spot you. I heard there is a free charger at the Navy Yard, not sure the capacity though. The Urban Outfitters cafeteria is open to the public for lunch during the work week - so it might be a worth while pit stop.

What is your charging situation? Garages in CC are almost unheard of. (Then again, so are $60k houses)

If a Philly meet up does occur - and you'd allow a wannabe/almost/near future owner to join -

Best of luck with the new spaceship!

Anthony J. Parisio | August 14, 2014

Thanks. I live in condo with owned parking space. I installed outlet behind my car. Works well. I will e-mail you.

Red Sage ca us | August 15, 2014

cynix | August 15, 2014

@Anthony: You were waiting for a mystery new option to show up by the end of July. Did you end up ordering your MS anyway without this option?

bayoufilter.tx | August 15, 2014

Merry ChristmasEveryDay!
That's truly what it feels like.
12 weeks rollin' and grinnin'

Anthony J. Parisio | August 15, 2014

Yes! I was told adaptive cruse was coming in July. I gave it till First week of August. It still has not come. While I know it will, I can't turn down the Inventory car that is available now. I save $11,000.00. ACC or not this is soooo sweet.

jordanrichard | August 15, 2014

Anthony if you had not heard, but your thread title is perfect for the recent news about the new warranty on the drive unit. Tesla is now warrantying the whole drive unit for 8 years and "infinite miles" and this is applies retroactively to ALL S85s made. WOO WHOO!!!!

Brian H | August 16, 2014

Actually, the expression is "Woo Hoo!". Only one W.

akikiki | August 16, 2014

@jordanrichard, we knew what you meant.

NomoDinos | August 16, 2014

I like "Woo who!"...

because you can ask it as a question, to which the answer is "Woo ME!"

Brian H | August 17, 2014

Who's on first?

Anthony J. Parisio | August 17, 2014

Talking about woo WHO. I have a license plate that says my other ride is a tardis.

NomoDinos | August 17, 2014

Brian - Me!

Anthony - nice :) Did you hear about the Tardis on Google maps? If not, definitely look it up on, uh, Google or something.

Brian H | August 17, 2014

Wonder how it got its name. Means the late or slow one, or SLT.

Wiki: "There is an 'easter egg' on Google Maps. Clicking the double arrow outside a Police Box located in the Earls Court region of London transports you inside the TARDIS set in Cardiff, with a 360 degree view of the controls."

Mathew98 | August 17, 2014

Knock knock. I'm looking my Chinese friend.

Who's your friend?

Wu is my friend.

No, Wu.

Wu who???
