Tesla Medical

Hi all,

today I saw someone in a electric wheelchair and thought what if Tesla was into medical stuff 6
Would it be so bulky ? Will the battery last more than a day ?
Obvisouly, it doesn't need (or do it ?) to be luxurious as a Model S, but what could they improve to the basic ones we see nowadays ?

Is Tesla (Elon Musk) looking into it ? (and maybe be able to do a Xavier Wheelchair :) )

Sunrise Medical, Invacare, and literally dozens of others have this covered already.

Do they have it covered as old ICE manufacturer had it covered for our daily drivers ?

I mean, yes, it exist for years now and the market is surely full. However Tesla has made its name in changing games (and I will always praise them to do so), but what about medical.

Other than electric wheelchairs that I believe could be :
1. More energy efficient
2. More good looking

a lot of other apparatus in the medical field could use a Tesla (Motors/Powerwall/anything else) game changing idea. Electric/autonomous wheelchairs, emergency beds coming out of the ambulance, etc...?

just thinking here...

I certainly hope there's one available with a nosecone when my time comes. And at some point I'll need navigation to find my way home.

Just planning ahead. It couldn't hoit!

Much more likely that Tesla Motors would become a supplier of batteries and charging control systems to the existing firms. Those companies would likely continue to use the same motors they already have on hand.

I keep hoping Elon would start his own ACO in the US, esp getting more user friendly and efficient EHRs, and changing how insurance companies dictate how doctors practice medicine. I would be the first to sign up to work for him.

This is very specialized stuff, custom for various conditions and then there are the articulated systems and lifts to get the chair positioned properly for use in and out of a vehicle. No way Tesla should be involved here except to sell the SUV that would probably be more suitable than a car for people with these afflictions.

What could be interesting is the use of the falcon doors as it would enable people to be hoisted in and out of the car much more easily than is the case with conventional doors.

Of course it would be even better if the whole side was a falcon door, something I hope the 3 has.

Tesla, and Musk of course, have bitten off at least as much as is practical:

Tesla motors
Battery plant (to me a different enterprise in terms of workload for the CEO)
SpaceX
SolarCity
The communications satellite company in Seattle (?)
Whatever hyperloop stuff...
Thoughts of Mars colonization in his spare time.

Don't expect anything more for awhile! I probably missed something else he is involved in. Oh, probably women. They do take some thought and demand some of your time. At least that is how it is with the supermodels who stalk me all the time. So annoying.

@matty,

Please find the nearest train track and lay your head to rest on the ties.

F'n spammer.

<< ... there are stores like https://texaschemist.com/ where high-quality generics can be bought. >>

Very interesting!

Do you happen to know though what the difference might be between a high-quality generic and a regular one?

rxlawdude | 30 août 2018

@Remnant, "Our website provides quality generic medicines shipped directly from stock in the USA. Each of the products that are available through our website are produced with the best raw materials and the greatest care at world-class pharmaceutical manufacturing plants in India. Each of these plants are Indian FDA approved and are internationally certified, so you know our products are safe."

This website violates so many US and California laws (not to mention, does the Texas Board of Pharmacy know this company implies it is located and operating legally in TX?), it's a joke.

Caveat emptor. Better yet, @matty, please don't bother with the train tracks. Just overdose on your Indian meds.

@stpmd37,
We are on the same boat.
Do you happen to live in California? We can talk.

It would be very cool if Elon Mask gathered something like this on a Xavier chair, but now I need to buy an electric wheelchair and I don’t know what it should be. I thought it would be easy to choose, like a TV or smartphone, but in practice it turned out to be much harder. I recently found reviews on such wheelchairs at https://www.paramountind.com/best-electric-wheelchairs/ and found out a lot of information, but I need people’s feedback. Has anyone bought wheelchairs from Amazon? Are they high-quality?
