Can't Change Payment Type?

Can't Change Payment Type?

I was playing around with the payment options because I couldn't get the green check mark to appear after selecting the option of "financing with my own bank" etc. So I switched it to cash to see what would happen and it turned to the green check mark and now I can't switch it back.

Did this happen to anyone else? Will I be able to change it easily when they contact me?

I can't change mine either. You may need to contact them about that.

Unfortunately, when I call the number it says they aren't taking calls for the Model 3. Is there another number?

I had a similar situation, no worries though. As soon as I was contacted to schedule delivery, I was able to work with the associate to change my payment method. Once I confirmed with them that I was going to do a loan, they changed the payment method in my account from their end. I'm still going through that whole process, but so far so good and it didn't affect my delivery date (at least not yet).

Same thing happened to me. Also when I did that my Edit Configuration button went away. Good sign maybe?

Don't worry too much about that. Just bring some form of payment in full on day of pickup.

So I’m doing a down payment and financing the rest so I’m wondering if I should just put cash and have them call me to work out the details since it’s difficult to get through the phone lines.

There's an option for financing through your own bank, that's what I put down Hashtag. I asked for a loan for the full amount from the credit union, but plan to put 15-20K down.

Yeah tesla can’t do finance in Texas so I have to find a CU to do financing with. So perhaps I’ll change to cash and have them call me because I was told to let let Tesla know my down payment and what will be financed through my CU so it accurately states is on the Purhase agreement. If you wait if could take some time for them to update your MVPA.

@MikeMash, did your delivery window change when you changed the payment method? That's the only gray button on my page and my delivery estimate is Sept-Nov...

I had the experience as acrain. I had it as cash, then when the delivery specialist called me I said I was using third-party financing and they were still OK with setting a delivery date a week later. 3 days later, financing is in place and was wired to Tesla this morning.

I had also previously attempted to contact Tesla after the "cash" selection was unchangeable but couldn't get through on the phone line. I submitted a request to change it on the e-mail form, but got called by the delivery specialist before anyone got back to me on the request. Do not worry, you're fine!

@jd4714, my delivery window did not change, but for the first time all of my check marks are green. They never went green when I had finance through my own bank as the payment choice.

Thinking in the end this might be a good thing as rumor has it that people doing cash and no trade in are getting contacted sooner for deliveries.

i am leasing my tesla, filled out everything i needed to fill out, have been just waiting to see if my application gets accepted. couple days later, on the website it says i was conditionally approved, but that i needed to submit documents. it did not tell me what to submit, it just said “submit these documents” and it gave me the submit button, so i just pressed it to see what would happen & now it’s been saying that “tesla will review your documents and contact you back” for about 2 days now. is there a number i can call? or should i just wait? i got a text this morning saying if i don’t complete my payment method then it can affect delivery time. Thank you!
