*If you have any feedback, please report it to the following email address:
autopilotfeedback@tesla.com*

If you have any questions about AP HW2, please post them here so we can keep everything in one thread. Whether it's a delivery question or when the software will be released question, please post here.

We have too many threads being created about this subject and it would be too difficult for one to research and find the answers they are looking for.
Thank you!

Latest firmware release: 2018.39.7 (V9)

Current confirmed working list on AP HW2/HW2.5

1. Turn headlights on and off auto
2. Speed Assist (Cruise control)
3. Parking assist
4. Traffic-aware cruise control
5. Forward collision warning
6. Low-Speed Autosteer no longer restricted to 35mph and can go 5 mph faster than detected speed. Autosteer on local roads maximum speed is 45 mph if speed is not detected (firmware 17.17.4)
7. Autosteer on interstate highways or divided highways (90 mph) (firmware 17.17.4)
8. Side Collision warning (works between 30mph - 85mph)(firmware 17.17.4)
9. Autopark (parallel) you must go slower than 15mph for the P to show up
10. Summon (Beta)
11. Auto lane change
12. Lane departure warning
13. Headrest adjustment
14. Auto emergency braking @90mph or less (firmware 17.24.xx)
15. Auto high beam dimming for all markets (in progress)
16. Adaptive headlights (They are progressive in nature depending on how far you turn the steering wheel - so you get one, two or three of the LEDs to light (on one side) depending on how much you turn. They are also a soft on/off in that they don't just flick on to full brightness, but slowly come up to full brightness - perhaps taking 1 second. Presumably the faster you are driving, the less steering angle is required to turn on these LEDs. The main 6 headlight LEDs do not change during this time.) (thanks TT, BigD0g and Gabe.ritter)
17. Auto wipers
18. Perpendicular parking added. 10mph or less until the P appears, then use same function as parallel. (17.22.46)
19. added feature to all cold weather package vehicles (heated steering wheel will auto-activate when getting back into the car if activated prior to exiting vehicle)
20. Blind spot detection added (v9)
21. Dashcam capability added ( [HW 2.5 and up] [V9] )

Current confirmed non-working list on AP HW2 and up

1. Auto transition to another freeway
2. Auto freeway exit
3. Speed limit sign recognition

I have 2019.8.5 and I’m getting a lot of ping ponging on AP/NOAP. Is anyone else seeing this? Not sure if I have a issue or not.

jjgunn | 13 avril 2019

Try a dual-scroll wheel reboot Corey - it usually helps solves these weirdness issues

My model x just got an update last night, from 2019.12.1 to 2019.12.1.1. I wonder if this mini updat was to fix some of the reports of display screens crashing while driving? I had put in several bug reports. I will try it out this morning. San Francisco Bay Area, California, model X July 2018

sdj | 29 avril 2019

@corey.baker yes I had reported in to Tesla about too much pingpong on the highways. 2109.8.5. they recalibrated and reset and the pingpong was still present. They were to call back after testing the second resetting and they have not.

Received 2019.8.6.2 on my MX 100D today. Nothing new but hopefully bug fixes. AP/FSD were fine on the test drive.

joannemilliken | 1 mai 2019

Received download 2019.12.11 4b1dd29 yesterday for my 2.0 hwd model X, Dec 2016 manufacture. Car was in garage plugged in for next day. I was supprised to see Sentry was available which I turned on. Today the car is dead. Tesla sent a tow truck. He tried to charge the 12 volt system without success. Cannot unplug the charger. Tow truck left promising to call Tesla. Be careful if you are in a similar situation.

Teslapalooza | 1 mai 2019

thanks for that tip.

Teslapalooza | 1 mai 2019

I also see a new menu item called 'Software' in the Car's controls panel (not in the phone App)

DRFLGD | 1 mai 2019

Yup. No longer do I have to constantly check whether my car has connected to my wifi or not so as to not miss a software update.

joannemilliken | 3 mai 2019

To continue my dead car story, After downloading new software,2019.12.11 4b1dd29, and finding my model X totally dead and the tow truck left without helping, Mobile Maintenance arrived over a day later. The mechanic worked about 5 hours on the Tesla. He found that the new software had disconnected the charging of the 12 volt battery by the big battery and never reestablished the automatic recharging of the 12 volt battery. He could not correct all of the software problems and I am to take the Tesla to a Service Center today. I hope no one else has such problems with this software release.

Vawlkus | 3 mai 2019

....... I have a hard time believing that story.

Teslapalooza | 3 mai 2019

I wonder if this could this be why they are pushing out 2019.12.1.2 out today?

jjgunn | 3 mai 2019

I just got 2019.12.1.2 at Midnight this morning. Took a long drive NoAP is fine. Still thinks 101 Southbound at Hospital Curve in SF is 40 MPH....BUT. the phantom braking was much less aggressive. It slowed down but gradually. Baby steps....

@joannemilliken - thanks for beta testing. Sorry about your car. Definitely not a common occurrence.

bottesini | 3 mai 2019

For what it’s worth, I received 2019.12.11 4b1dd29 a few days ago (MS 100D) & it’s behaved flawlessly. Even fixed the frequent blank screen I’d been getting.

Just updated the MX 100D to 2019.16.2 - Swedish language support!

Um WOW! The new visualization is really nice for AP/FSD

Sentry Mode icon up top for easy enabling.

Just went for a short drive. So far so good. Didn't see any major issues

2019.16.2 -- hope you all get it soon.

PagemakersS75 | 23 mai 2019

Can any European drivers with 2019-16-1 or above confirm if this is a problem....

Teslapalooza | 23 mai 2019

got my 16.2 update today. Have driven only a few miles. Visualization improvement looks nice. Sentry button on the top of the screen is a nice convenience. The software download setting is a good improvement too. But time will tell how well it works when set to advanced mode.

Vawlkus | 24 mai 2019

I’m still getting periodic ‘Failed to start climate’. Was kinda hoping 16 would solve that annoyance.

jjgunn | 7 juin 2019

Just installed 2019.20.1 last night on the MX.

TeslaTap.com | 7 juin 2019

@jjgunn - Have you tried the lock confirmation sound - is the sound from the horn (yuk) or something a bit more pleasing and less annoying?

johnson.todd.r | 7 juin 2019

Just noticed today with 2019.16.2 that only the car shows up on the center console. No lanes, no surrounding traffic. Anyone else notice this? I've rebooted center and main console and checked that autosteer is enabled.

TeslaTap.com | 7 juin 2019

@johnson - Works fine for me on 16.1 and 16.3 (never had 16.2). Notice that around this time the new auto-zoom will make the car image larger when driving in an area without lanes or slowly. Makes the car smaller when there are lanes to be shown, such as on the freeway. You may be seeing this new feature.

Yes. Just like the Model 3

@TeslaTap.com I think there may be an issue with sentry mode on my AP 2.0 S. I stopped, turned it off, then went back into drive and the display now shows the usual lanes and surrounding traffic. I will test it out more tomorrow.

Saxman | 9 juin 2019

I have been away from my MX75D since April 1st, but was able to remotely install 2019.12.1.1. Since then, I think I have lost my WiFi connection to my X. I have not actually seen how the new Software Notification feature works.

My question. When I return in July, will the new Software Notification feature advise me if I missed an update by not having a wifi connection? If so will I be able to download once I am there to reestablish wifi?

Thanks

Teslapalooza | 22 juin 2019

We are up to 2019.20.2.1 now. I installed it day before yesterday. Dog mode improvements mainly. You will get alerts when the battery gets down to 20% when dog mode is on. Good for dogs and dog owners. Other than that, just some bug fixes. I think there is another improvement around the dancing icons issue reported by many in the past - it seems to have stabilized the dancing icons when the car is stopped at stop lights

Teslapalooza | 22 juin 2019

spoke too soon. Dancing icons is alive and well.

Also drove some 300 miles today. Autopilot after being solid for more than a year, has become flaky like it used to be a year ago. It has been overly sensitive and it keeps dropping out. I had to re-engage it a dozen or more times today - all on highways where autopilot used to be rock steady. I also did not take highway exit ramp at one point. I did a bug report. Let us see if they fix it in the next minor rev.
