So, as I get back to my car parked in lot in Los Angeles, two business-man-looking guys, one in his thirties and one in his sixties, are hovering over my brand new Model S. As I approach, one of them asks me if this is my car. I proudly acknowledge that it is, fully prepared to give them the geek run-down for those, who have read about the car and now have spotted the first one in the wild.
To my surprise, they ask in unison: "What is it? It's absolutely gorgeous!". I respond: "It's a Tesla." "Who makes it?" They knew nothing about anything connected to the car, not about Tesla, not about it being a California car company, nothing. They just *loved* the way it looks. They were stunned when I told them it was electric, and I could see their view of the automotive world change right in front of my eyes.
Elon's goal of making the best car, not just the best EV, has been partially achieved in these guy's eyes and many of ours: He made the prettiest car.
