Model S Reservation Tally

This thread is intended to track Model S reservations.

If your reservation number is greater than the reservation number listed below, please post the 1) reservation number 2) region and 3) type: Signature or General Production.

Here is an updated collection of the numbers posted by members on various threads (i.e., these numbers are to be taken with a grain of salt):

US
S 249 (March 23, 2011)
P 3,446 (March 25, 2011)
R 218 (January 2011)

Canada
S 69 (March 24, 2011)
P 143 (March 9, 2011)

Europe/Asia
S 55 (January 18, 2011)*
P 448 (March 28, 2011)

Hong Kong
P 1 (March 23, 2011)

Australia
P 17 (January 21, 2011)

S = Signature Series (Model S)
P = General Production (Model S)
R = Roadster Owner/Friends and Family

* = On March 1, 2011, a Tesla member posted, "Got the following info from Tesla some days ago: In Europe they have reduced the Signature down to 500 and approximately 70 have been reserved." While 55 is a confirmed/posted reservation number from this forum, the 70 has yet to be verified by the actual European reservation holder.

rbeninati1 | 8 décembre 2011

What's the diffence between an S and a SSL?

Mycroft | 8 décembre 2011

SSL are Signatures reserved by Roadster owners. We're guessing that when you add S+SSL, the total should reach the total number of Signatures reserved. But we're not sure.

cosmomusic | 8 décembre 2011

My US S507 is unchanged.

stephen.kamichik | 9 décembre 2011

My Canadian P157 is unchanged.

Whity Whiteman | 9 décembre 2011

Has my No. changed?

Origin: Model S #502
...in "my Tesla": "#RN033077"

Timo | 9 décembre 2011

#RNxxxxx is not the sequence number. There should be another number there that is your sequence number.

mcornwell | 9 décembre 2011

It's been 10 days, de need some new reservation #'s to combat the stupid Morgan Stanley guy who downgraded TSLA saying EV interest was waning... Surely those new shiny stores in high end malls have resulted in some reservations!

Mycroft | 9 décembre 2011

I think we have two more weeks before they announce the Sigs sold out. One week for our numbers and another week to make up for dropouts.

Jason S | 9 décembre 2011

I don't think the US numbers have been compressed at all. I've got the same Sig 592 (tho I changed my forum ID to match the email Tesla has for me). My RN# is over 130000.

AndreasD | 10 décembre 2011

Hello to all , this is the first time that I post a message in this forum . As far as I can see , most reservation holders have now got their reservation sequence numbers back . I live in germany and had previously #S16 . If I now login , the MyTesla button shows an empty page . No S# , no RN# . My question : Is that the same thing for the other german reservation holders ? Greetings from southern Bavaria -- Andreas

Volker.Berlin | 10 décembre 2011

Andreas, I am also a reservation holder. As of today (and for the past few days), my MyTesla page is showing my sequence number (#P3) as well as my RN#.

Volker.Berlin | 10 décembre 2011

Fix: "Andreas, I am also a German reservation holder." Edit feature, anyone? http://www.teslamotors.com/forum/forums/tesla-we-need-search-google-does...

AndreasD | 10 décembre 2011

Volker , thank you for your information . Seems that I will have to ask the guys at Tesla what's the matter with my reservation .

Robert.Boston | 10 décembre 2011

@cornwell: I'm very grateful to the Morgan Stanley guy, who single-handedly created a buying opportunity for a stock that I had assumed was never going to be flirting with $30 again. We'll have a string of positive news from Tesla over the next two weeks, with the Model X reveal, the Model S pricing and specs, and the announcement that the U.S. Signature series is sold out.

michiganmodels | 10 décembre 2011

@Robert.Boston - I agree. The Morgan Stanley report also was a convenient excuse for portfolio managers to sell and capitalize on their 2011 returns. I took advantage and bought more on Thursday and Friday.

As Warren Buffet always says, be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful :-)

Peak Oil bruin | 10 décembre 2011

MImodels - unfortunately, I was not fearful and went all in on Tuesday when the stock looked poised to breakout above 35- should have waited for confirmation. Amazingly, one of the minority writers at Motley Fool has called the Morgan Stanley yoyo out for what he is

http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2011/12/09/this-weeks-5-dumbest-st...

Mycroft | 10 décembre 2011

Yeah, the Fools aren't exactly ra ra Tesla, or EVs of any nature for that matter. It surprised me also to see that post.

jackhub | 10 décembre 2011

Actually if you read the Morgan Stanley report, it is not really all that negative. It says that Tesla is going to emphasize quality over quantity. As a consequence, the analyst said he is revising downward HIS original estimate of production buildup and his target for the stock. The analyst still comes across as very positive on Tesla. The anti-EV spin meisters turned it negative and fed the ever ready media feeding frenzy. Probably led by the 43% short sellers in the stock who are losing their shorts. ;-}

gjunky | 10 décembre 2011

I bought some more too the day after the Morgan Stanley announcement just when I thought the stock would just keep going up and that I had missed my chance. This might end up to be a good thing for a number of us.

Peter Spirgel | 11 décembre 2011

Where are the new reservation holders? Interested to see the current count. Come on new tesla reservation holders!

ThomasN | 11 décembre 2011

I really wouldn't expect many more reservation holders, with the exception of signature series, until the test drive phase.

stephen.kamichik | 11 décembre 2011

People probably feel that since the first year production is sold, that they should hold on to their money. They probably want to see what kind of reviews the model S gets. Some may be waiting to see the model X.

jd3tm | 12 décembre 2011

This blog doesn't seem very active; but, fwiw, I am Model S Signature #692...

sorry, i didn't realize I was at the beginning of the blog!!! i guess it is still quite active!!!

Evidently the reservation tally continuation thread has disappeared.

Might as well bump this one up to give the forum nazis a chance to rip this one out as well.

You can find the current tally over on the Tesla Motors Club forum, free of censorship.

@mycroft
Let's avoid that term; using it almost always is a bad idea. The exception is when you're writing a history book.

Saying "forum censors" would have been clear enough.

Mycroft | 26 décembre 2011

Agreed, you're right. I'll use that term from now on.

US Signature #949 - December 28, 2011

snuck in there. ;-)

Volker.Berlin | 28 décembre 2011

phb, welcome. That was about time! ;-) There seem not too many Sigs left, although, after the "Options & Pricing" turmoil some places may become vacant again, soon...

Brant | 28 décembre 2011

81 Sig reservations in 13 days!?
Wow

Volker.Berlin | 28 décembre 2011

Yeah, seems that Tesla won't have a hard time selling the Sig edition at a premium.

phb | 28 décembre 2011

The options and pricing page going up actually encouraged me to upgrade my reservation. I realized that I was planning on getting everything in the Signature package (except the parcel shelf) anyway and so I might as well upgrade. I currently drive a Chevy Suburban so the extra $3500 premium to get the car sooner will evaporate entirely with me not driving that car day-to-day for 6 months or more while waiting for my Model S. I was P 5640ish and so it was going to be a while.

I am a little bummed about the limited color choices of the Signature and the fact that I can't get grey leather but those are pretty minor things.

Mycroft | 28 décembre 2011

Welcome to the club phb! I'm S#510, so you'll be getting yours about two weeks after me. :-D

@Mycroft: So they're planning on putting out about 200 cars per week by then? That seems like a lot, however they are going to have to start putting out those kinds of numbers (and more) if they are going to meet their production goals.

Also, I just got a phone call from a guy at Tesla named Sean. He wasted to confirm my reservation, congratulate me and see if I have any questions. I asked a few but got the usual answer that they didn't know for certain yet and would let us know when they do. Interestingly, I made the comment that they only had about 50 Signature models left to sell and he replied "if that."

Anyway, he left me his direct number incase I have future questions. The Signature reservation may not get better value for money (although if you read my earlier post, I think that it does in my case) it certainly does come with another level of attention from Tesla.

mcornwell | 28 décembre 2011

So now that reservations passed the 9000 mark, I wonder if Elon will use that figure at the next earnings call. If I remember correctly, he used the 6500 number last time, even though this thread had it at or above 7000...

Robert.Boston | 28 décembre 2011

@mcornwell: I'd guess he'll say "over 8000". It wouldn't surprise me to learn that several hundred reservations have dropped after the P&O announcement, offsetting some of the remarkable increases in reservations we've seen here.

GoTeslaChicago | 28 décembre 2011

"several hundred reservations dropped"?

I'd be surprised if it was more than two dozen

jackhub | 29 décembre 2011

@GoTeslaChicago
I tend to agree. I believe much of the complaining is from non-reservation holders who were wishing on a star. I'm sorry if anyone is disappointed, but many of the option expectations were unrealistic. Elon may have a zeal to spread electric automotion, but he has to make money to do it.

Volker.Berlin | 29 décembre 2011

I believe much of the complaining is from non-reservation holders who were wishing on a star. (jackhub)

More exactly, wishing on a Bluestar! :-)

I also kept my Signature Reservation based on the color: Signature Red :-)
