Question Regarding Dimensions of Falcon Wings (Rear Doors)

We are considering the Model X for our next SUV and are a bit concerned about the dimensions of the car when the Falcon Wings are open...particularly the height. Can someone provide or tell me where I can find this information? The picture on this site of the doors in open position make me feel like it might be higher than my garage ceiling.

Thanks very much.

There have not been any official dimensions released. There are some good estimations in this thread...

Check the bottom of page 2 and top of page 3.

Cheers!

Hei! I ordered my Model X already in April last year and have the same concern as s.kennedy@. However, this could Tesla, the today's most innovative car manufacturer, easily solve for instance by mounting single parking sensors near each of the handles to the falcon-wing doors, and then connect these to a device that stops the doors e.g. one inch cm from the garage ceiling or other objects above the car. Case solved ...

I seriously doubt you will have height issues because if you look at the pictures of the MX in the garage on the tesla website you can judge it next to the normal door which is standard at about 6ft, and to me it looks like about no taller than 6ft 6inches. Keep in mind this is just a rough guess off a picture.

It has proximity sensors which prevent contact with other cars, ceilings, etc.

The estimation I linked above is 79.5 inches or 6' 7.5".

Yup, as Brian says it has been stated that the doors will have proximity sensors it keep from hitting anything.
