Has anybody paired their S to the XfinityWIFI hotspot gateway? If so, how well does it work?
Are you talking about the system in which you sign in to one hotspot and you are signed in to all of them? If so, iwould assume that at the physical layer it is no different than a different wifi network, so you would have to connect. But then it would recognize your credentials and sail through the connection.
Am i even close on this?
I'm not sure, I live in the boonies and this stuff comes late to our area. The announcement letter says that if you already have home wifi with Xfinity, after you sign into the system you will link to ANY Xfinity home router that you are close enough to. No login is required and I assume it should automatically link to the available router, or at least notify you that it's available.
I found thsi website you found the solution here: https://10-0-0-0-1.org
We have Optimum here, with hotspots from Nj to CT. When I brought the car into a service center, when we started talking about wifi. the first thing he told me was not to connect to them. the car would not handle switching from router to router as you drive. So I guess as you drive, you have no connection while the vehicle tries to switch.
