Model X September Delivery Delays?

Model X September Delivery Delays?

I had my delivery rescheduled twice now.. This is day 6 of production. Has anyone else had their appointments rescheduled? I'm here in SoCal.

dyyuan | 21 septembre 2018

I just got a text message today from Tesla, saying that my car is ready for pick up (originally scheduled on 9/28)...uh but the CU hasn't even cut a check yet...so not sure how that's gonna work...

chili22 | 21 septembre 2018

keep me posted just ordered my X

chili22 | 21 septembre 2018

anyone have intel on "decroming the X? Live in LA area.

lilbean | 21 septembre 2018

@chili22 Sticker City, Sherman Oaks. They are awesome! https://stickercity.com

Joespinney | 22 septembre 2018

SoCal Tint] Shop in Chino. Does all my cars. MX scheduled for full ceramic tint (windshield included) and chrome delete on Thursday. They are in Chino. He also does protective film and full wraps. Has done several Teslas already

Joespinney | 22 septembre 2018

My pick up just changed from 9/23 to 9/26. Blamed on logistics. It’s been in production for 10 days now. Probably faile QC. Better now than at the delivery.

scotteeboy71 | 22 septembre 2018

Interesting Joespinney. Mine has been in production for 7 days now. I have a feeling that my delivery will be changed for the third time. Unless the website is incorrect.

Joespinney | 22 septembre 2018

I was told it is in queue to be shipped but the logistics error was in the shipping to SoCal process. Not a QC process or kissing part. Hopefully they are double checking the QC review. Doubt it.

scotteeboy71 | 22 septembre 2018

Yes hopefully. I called the delivery number today and they told me that my X is in transit. Really? website still says "in production". I've gotten two different answers the last 48 hours from delivery on whether or not the car would arrive at the delivery center on th 23rd or 24th for me to pick up on the 25th. Really strange.

rick1 | 22 septembre 2018

Ordered my MX 8/31 and mine still shows scheduled for production. I think because I am east coast mine is being delayed so they can produce and deliver cars on the west coast before 9/30/18. :-(

bob | 22 septembre 2018

we just drove from the Bay Area thru LA via I-5. We saw multiple transport trucks carrying lots of MS, MX and M3s heading south. Hopefully you will all get your cars soon!

MrVasireddi | 23 septembre 2018

I ordered an existing inventory that was already on its way to New Jersey so I had a 10 day from order to delivery but somehow they delivered the car to New York so I am waiting for them to relocate it to New Jersey. Hopefully Wednesday if all goes smooth.

I had an appointment to pick up my car today 9/22/2018 at 2:00. After driving an hour to Hawthorne and then waiting for 30 minutes in the office I was told the car was in San Jose. Driving another hour back home all I can think is how dysfunctional this company is, they schedule an appointment and don't have the car available?

scotteeboy71 | 23 septembre 2018

Michael91108, was your appointment rescheduled? Doesn't take long to get the car from San Jose.

stmccoy | 23 septembre 2018

Originally estimated delivery of my MX was mid-late August. Paid in full almost 3 weeks ago as they said it would be delivered by 3rd party (in NV) shortly after payment. Still waiting. Car is still sitting in Sacramento. No one will respond to emails or phone calls. If they can't deliver the car, or give me a legitimate time frame) do they return the money until they can? Ca I just go pick it up myself? Or do I just have to cancel completely?

bob | 24 septembre 2018

@ stmccoy this week is a perfect storm for delivery. Do you follow Elon tweets? There's been a Twitter exchange starting last Friday night where many 'high profile' owners are volunteering to assist with deliveries. There's several articles on the topic on electrek.co and other outlets. Without a doubt the busiest delivery storm in company history. I understand it's not easy but be patient.

ROFL I'm having the opposite problem. I placed an order September 16, confirmed September 19, to be delivered in late November. I just got a call today September 24 saying our car will be ready for pick up September 29. I freaked out because I don't have loan docs ready to go yet (thinking about getting a quote from a credit union first to compare rates). Wow. I think this must be an inventory car. Ten days to source and build? It took them 3 months for my first car.

Same here. Ordered 9/15. Site says delivery in November. Order confirmed 9/18, vin issued immediately. Get a call from my DS the next day to set up delivery 10/4. Site didn't change to "In Production" until today. Way faster compared to my 2016 order.

Joespinney | 24 septembre 2018

I checked my status everyday.
It went into prucuction 10 days before scheduled delivery. Out of production 1 day before delivery. Missed the truck leaving for SoCal and delayed delivery by 3 days. I get it Wednesday night.

I have my second MS on order but I want the latest possible configuration they're building. So I hope they don't shove an inventory car on me. Incidentally this may well be a newly build car someone did not get after paying their deposit for any number of reasons. If however, it was build in June that's kind of not what I want.

Oops! Double posting from a whole lot of us. Site behaving badly today

bob | 25 septembre 2018

drove back on I-5 north bound from LA yesterday. For the entertainment value while driving I counted southbound car carriers for about 2 hours. Bottom line is more than half the new cars on full sized carriers heading southbound on I-5 were Teslas. I counted 8 tesla transports in the two hours that I paid attention (15 total carries of new cars). That's 7 vehicles per or about 28 Teslas per hour! Far from scientific, but interesting non the less. Hope you all get yours soon!

Triggerplz | 25 septembre 2018

@Bob keep your eyes on where you going while driving :-)

khan_haroun | 25 septembre 2018

just picked up MX on sunday freemont delivery center. 2 months wait was worth while. no defects noted during inspection. 1 hour wait time. Freemont delivery center was like flee market. People coming for model 3. Looks like Tesla QC has improved alot. My delivery was cancelled twice. Webpage is not very accurate. Mine was saying in transit from factory, but MX was waiting to be picked on sunday. Sometimes they dont update on timely manner.
VERY HAPPY WITH THE FINAL PRODUCT.

scotteeboy71 | 25 septembre 2018

Nice. Picked up my Model X today at the Marine Del Rey Delivery Center. Pretty smooth. Quiet overall. They've converted the "show room" area into a processing area for mostly Model 3s. They are now delivering out in the parking lot. It was way better when I picked up my M3 in March- because they were delivering indoors with all the fancy lighting, etc. It was more of an experience. That being said, my Model X looked really good. No obvious issues I could see. Drives great too!

laudilaudi1 | 17 octobre 2018

Where-? Hey, where's the EM-50? A couple of soldiers took it out to get washed, sir.

derekdonatelli | 30 octobre 2018

Ordered my model X on Sept 15, Confirmed Sept 18. VIN assigned October 2. Still showing “Your Tesla order has been confirmed and scheduled for production in our factory.” today, October 30th. Anyone have ideas when I might see my Model X?

wluk | 31 octobre 2018

derekdonatelli, you are not alone. my story is exactly like yours.

phil | 1 novembre 2018

derekdonatelli and wluk, I'm in the same boat. I talked to my DS a couple of days ago and he said to expect the car in "late November".

dgulick | 1 novembre 2018

Best of luck derekdonatelli. I ordered early in October after been told it'd be first half of November. Just found out Dec 24. Can't get a single person to take accountability or even try to assist. I wouldn't have bought the car if they couldn't deliver. Considering they've failed to follow up multiple times when they committed to it, not responded to emails asking questions, or ignored what I wrote when they did respond, I'm not optimistic this will be delivered before the end of January and I'm not willing to eat the tax credit difference. #TeslaRegret

derekdonatelli | 1 novembre 2018

Dgulick, our stories are eerily familiar. I wish they’d just be honest and share information. I did get a text today saying “Hello, this is the Tesla Scheduling Team. We plan to have your vehicle ready for pick up and we have scheduled you at the Devon delivery center on December 13, 2018 at 5:30 pm. Please note that this is a tentative appointment and could change. Please log into your Tesla Account and complete your profile. Make sure to have insurance active on day of delivery for your new Tesla. Thank you and Congratulations!”
This should have said.... congratulations, your car is only 25 days late, you’re in a better position than other people in your situation.

Ordered 9/8, vin 9/15. Went into production 10/1 came out 10/5, arrived Orlando FL, 10/26, plannng to take delivery 11/4, very little communication from both sides { no need}, will see how will it goes, I am taking a friend to do through inspection, with printed out list

docnartman | 2 novembre 2018

Ordered mine (100D, six seater) on 10/25 and confirmed 10/28. Staring at my account for the VIN. Gleaning from other forums, seems hit or miss for the VIN to show up in a predictable way. Sounds like some folks get it just days before delivery. Some may not even have one when they get called. This was in the M3 forum. Would love to get this soon, but would be ecstatic to get it before the end of the year. Not so great knowing despite their website and sales guys at the dealer saying it’ll get here before the end of the year....seems folks are getting delays left and right. Was told over the phone today by Customer Support that MX’s a being built faster than M3’s. Any thoughts? Just want to see progress.

nenahill04 | 2 novembre 2018

@derekdonatelli Devon Delivery Center is not in California is it? The further you are away from Fremont, the longer it will take. We have ours estimated for delivery at the end of November.

derekdonatelli | 2 novembre 2018

No, not in Ca, Devon is in Pa

nenahill04 | 3 novembre 2018

Ahh ok. :thumbs up:

GranpaJohn | 6 novembre 2018

Ordered MX100D Red 9/15 confirmed 9/18 no change yet on My Tesla website. Rec'd text 11/03 with estimated delivery date of 12/08

derekdonatelli | 10 novembre 2018

Where is everyone getting the information to put into the spreadsheet? I have received zero updates other than the vin being uploaded and a text about scheduling my delivery date. Nothing else.

docnartman | 10 novembre 2018

I think most people are getting it from the website, just as you, and the text message. Maybe some have been able to reach their delivery advisor. Update on my end, since order confirmation on 10/28, finally got a text on 11/6 stating a JANUARY 7 delivery! If you look at the spreadsheet, folks who ordered/confirmed later than me are still having earlier (December) delivery dates. Well I've seen cases where the vehicle shows up earlier, but gleaning from the spreadsheet, the color choices, seat configuration, and a few other items may contribute to the delay. It is what it is at this point. The frustrating part is, despite having my VIN and "assigned" a delivery specialist. Nobody has said anything despite my two attempts at reaching out to them. Again, this is the "norm". On the plus side, I got my wall charger yesterday.

wluk | 10 novembre 2018

ordered on 9/16 and vin assigned on 10/6 but still have no idea what the estimated delivery date is. No Text, No Email, No update, No reply.

derekdonatelli | 10 novembre 2018

Ok, so it’s par for the course to hear nothing... I guess this is the norm.

rvr_2020 | 15 novembre 2018

I ordered My model x 75D six seat with Console on October 15th and order confirmed October 18th. Few days later VIN assigned. I sent an email to Inside Delivery Advisor (Zachary Glassburn) to get delivery updates.
Here is his response
"Currently we are looking at December 27th for your delivery. If it arrives sooner, I will reach out to coordinate an earlier delivery for you"

docnartman | 16 novembre 2018

rvr_2020, great that your person responded. I’ve now emailed twice my deliver advisor. No response. Tesla customer service said they sent my advisor an “internal message” to respond back to me. I’ll say this, and sympathize that they are busy, but like many people, I also have a busy job like many here and often get >400 emails a day. I do my best to get back to people in 24-48 hrs. It’s now nine days later. Just asking a question for clarification, yet still no response. Hate to sound “entitled” or something, but Model X’s arent cheap (down payment for a house expensive)....would like a response at some point. Just common courtesy from any corporation. Eh just venting. I know others have dealt with the same. I hope I get a response soon. Hate to bother them, just needed one question answered!

GranpaJohn | 16 novembre 2018

MX100D Red 5 seater - My 9/15 order went into production 11/13. My Advisor, Irma, mas been extremely responsive and engaged. Still expecting 12/08 delivery.

derekdonatelli | 24 novembre 2018

The sales people at Tesla should really set the precedence and say to you when you’re signing your paperwork.... “after you sign, we won’t have updates for you until your car ships, don’t ask”. Even then, it may come by train or truck and we might be able to provide you updates.

phil | 25 novembre 2018

MX100D 7 seats - Ordered on 9/26 and saw the VIN 10 days later on 10/6/2018. Talked to my DS on 10/29 and he said delivery was looking like "late November". On 11/8, I got an update from my DS that delivery would be on 11/21/2018. I got a confirmation email on 11/18/2018 for my delivery date. Talked to my DS the day before delivery and they said they wouldn't make 11/21 :( Rescheduled for 11/24 and I took delivery.
