Car Covers

Car Covers

Noticed this photo over at TMC. Wonder if we can get hold of these Tesla Car Covers - anyone asked?

sagebrushnw | 1 novembre 2012

These are not "car covers"...they are the while "plastic" that they are shipped in to protect the finish.

Teoatawki | 1 novembre 2012

The Tesla online store has car covers for dust only and 1 for outside use.

nickjhowe | 1 novembre 2012

Oops - they looked like cloth rather than plastic.

@Teoatawki - thanks. And thanks for having the "most difficult to type" handle. :-)

Teoatawki | 1 novembre 2012

@nickjhowe - a lot better than TheEndOfAllThingsAsWeKnowIt. I totally understand why some shorten to just Teo.

Brian H | 2 novembre 2012

So it's an acronym! I was afraid it was some exotic ethnic concoction.

Brian H | 2 novembre 2012

But it should be "TheEndOfAllThingsAsWeKnowThem". Which is even harder to pronounce.

nickjhowe | 2 novembre 2012

I thought it was Maori or something for "The man who drives the magic horseless cart"

Teoatawki | 2 novembre 2012

No, but it would be great if it was!

Volker.Berlin | 2 novembre 2012

And maybe it actually is. Are you sure otherwise? ;-)

nickjhowe, maybe you should at some point start using a platform that supports copy-paste. Have you heard of copy-paste? Works great for me! I overheard that even Apple implemented it just recently... ;-) SCNR

The white covers look like the ones Audi uses to protect its' cars during transport. They are flimsy.

nickjhowe | 2 novembre 2012

@Volker - i tried it but the keyboard got far too sticky. :-(

Petrokalis | 3 novembre 2012

Actually, Brian, I believe "It" is possibly also correct here because it is referring to the end, not things.

Brian H | 4 novembre 2012

As we know the end? Sense makes it not. :D

Teoatawki | 4 novembre 2012

I can't take blame or credit. It is an acronym from a science fiction story I read long ago.

Brian H | 4 novembre 2012

Do you remember which one?

jerry3 | 4 novembre 2012

It's in the song "It's The End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" by the band R.E.M.

I don't know whether this came out before of after the book (as I don't know what the book is).

Teoatawki | 4 novembre 2012

Much earlier than the song, I think. I can't recall what the book was.

For the record, I did not intend to hijack this thread.

Brian H | 4 novembre 2012

The REM song doesn't fit, anyway; that would be TEOTWAWKI.
