We tour the factory the week of November 1, will we be able to see Model X in production? Touch them? Sit in one?

Hmmm... Sounds like a question for your Delivery Specialist.

jordanrichard | 30 ottobre 2015

I am sure you certainly will see them, but I highly doubt you will be able to touch any X's that are on the line.

I would ask your POC for the tour.

KyleGoss | 30 ottobre 2015

My WAG:

1) Probably
2) Unlikely
3) Doubt it

gordonbremer | 30 ottobre 2015

We toured Sept 30 and there were already a few Xs on the lines then.

vperl | 30 ottobre 2015

No touchy, sack up.

Buy a KIA, be happy.

Red70D.Martinez.CA | 30 ottobre 2015

We toured Aug 6th and saw a couple on the line. No touching.

AZNick | 30 ottobre 2015

Seeing them will be awesome!

Ross1 | 31 ottobre 2015

Touch them?

Like zoo animals?

Perhaps you should. Didnt GM send all theirs to the crusher?

Roamer@AZ USA | 31 ottobre 2015

@AZ Nick, if you get close enough to touch, snag a VIN number while you are being slammed to the ground for touching..... I have two VINs that need to be found at the factory and told to get their butts to AZ .

MYYModelX | 31 ottobre 2015

Took tour yesterday. Saw a few in the production process and lots of parts, but none finished and definitely none to touch. But the tour was really interesting!!

deeageux | 31 ottobre 2015

Looky but no touchy,

Like my favorite clubs :)

pgeerlofs | 31 ottobre 2015

Lot's of parts? That's good news.

ken | 1 novembre 2015

@AZ Nick, as you are going through, see if the colors coming down the line are all the same or if they are mixed colors. THANKS.

Triggerplz | 1 novembre 2015

TOUCH THEM??? You going to a strip club?? Are There gonna have my model X on a pole?? Please don't squeeze my headlights

darlin | 2 novembre 2015

This thread got funny real quick....LOL!

skymaster | 2 novembre 2015

When we took the tour back in 2013, they were adamant about not touching anything. We walked the floor back then and the cars were inches away! I was shocked we were able to be so close to the action.

Ross1 | 2 novembre 2015

If you touch them they turn to gold.

Can't have that.

paradis | 2 novembre 2015

If you put dollar bills under the w/s wipers you can touch. (:-)

dortor | 2 novembre 2015

@mclary - If you can't be civil, be gone!

Nobody appreciates your obnoxious demeanor.

Ross1 | 5 novembre 2015

Obnoxious demeanour! How poetical.
.......

Obnoxious McLary

Like uncivil Mary

Had a certain demeanour.

His mouth is so foul

He posts from the bowel

Some of us wish he was cleaner.

.......

Thanks Paradis

Hear Hear, there are already too many mean people that want to criticize others for their comments....

....Here be Tesla Karma...and respect...

When I tour the factory, I will demand to watch my X get built...and touch it... If i get booted from the tour, can I still get my X?

Triggerplz | 5 novembre 2015

Hopefully the X wont be lemons u squeezing

Ross1 | 5 novembre 2015

Triggerplz is going to bash anyone up who gets an X before himher.

Lemons? I sure hope not but the first of a series is always the worst. Good if you can wait another year or so Trigger.

.....

It is far easier to criticise people than things (like your beloved Teslas).

It is a measure of our intelligence.

I haven't heard Elon naming names, have you?

And he is a genius.

Red Sage ca us | 5 novembre 2015

The right to personally observe and supervise the building of your own Model X...?

Priceless.

ken | 5 novembre 2015

@AZNick, your tour must be over by now, soooo...what did you see, and anything to report to those of us waiting and wondering?

Ross1 | 6 novembre 2015

@ Sage:

Vw built the Phaeton in the glass factory, where the owner could actually assemble it as long as heshe didn't alter the speci / order.

I can't find a link for that tho.

Red Sage ca us | 6 novembre 2015

Cool. But then, it does sort of help to have a whole city to yourself on the corporate level.

;-)

Ross1 | 6 novembre 2015

Sage did you mean :

;-) or :-)

:-( it looks like your nose is dripping.

Want a ditty about that?

AZNick | 7 novembre 2015

They made us sign an NDA. Same one each of you that toured signed. That said, the tour was a disappointment. The young man that toured us was a pleasure. I just have found other tours to be more informative and impressive.

NumberOne | 7 novembre 2015

@AZNick I think the tour saw not as impressive as you might have hoped because you already know so much about Tesla. The fact that the cars are not yet being delivered also does not help. Thanks for the feedback though.

shop | 8 novembre 2015

Why was it a disappointment, AZNick? What did you miss that you thought you might get?

ian t.wa.us | 8 novembre 2015

Likely to sit in and touch a completed Model X.

I thought the tour was fascinating and wish I could have spent about an hour in each area. So cool seeing these machines being built.

AZNick | 9 novembre 2015

Audi's factory is more impressive and streamlined. It probably just is much more refined. The robots at Tesla are cool, but the production does not come across as overly smooth. Seems like things are more haphazard at Tesla than at other plants. The staff at Tesla were all actively working which is much more than I can say for American unionized shops I've toured.

jordanrichard | 10 novembre 2015

AZNick, that factory has only been turning out cars for 3 1/2 years. Any other plant you have toured has been cranking out cars for decades and at far higher volume.

Red Sage ca us | 14 novembre 2015

Even if a new car rolls out of a plant every 38 seconds, that doesn't mean it only took 38 seconds to build it.

georgehawley.fl.us | 14 novembre 2015

It sounds like the Model X may actually be in production. Hallelujah!
EM predicted a rapid ramp up. Any evidence of this?

aesculus | 14 novembre 2015

Hey. This sounds a lot like the definition of electrical current speed versus electron propagation speed. :-)
