Yet another weird steering related noise: sometimes, when I turn my steering wheel while driving slowly, I heard a creaking or rubbing sound.
It's the kind of noise that I'd sometime hear driving other cars, when the wheel was fully cranked coming from the tires. Except the wheel doesn't need to be fully cranked and this doesn't sound like it's coming from the tires (but I obviously cannot be sure about that.) Seems to happen more frequently when the car is cold and hasn't been driven for a while than any other time. I don't know enough about cars to speculate what the cause might be.
So far, it hasn't seemed serious enough to go through the hassle of a service call. But it is getting more frequent and noticeable, so I might do it at some point. It's definitely a strange and out of place sound to hear in the morning while maneuvering out of the garage: kind of makes my car sound like it has arthritis or something.
