I am planning a trip to Colgate University from my home in York. The distance is 278 mi. I have an 85D and am uncertain about a charging strategy. Going with supercharging adds 3 hours to the trip.
Have you reviewed Plugshare.com and also campground locations along I-81?
ScottTech, LLC - Binghampton, NY has a HPWC available.
Colgate shows that they have a 6.6KW charger on-site when you get there.
There is a destination charger on the way.
Colgate in has two 90 amp chargers and they are free. You'll get 50 miles per hour.
Oh also keep in mind. Hamilton NY is 1100 feet above sea level. It is a climb in the last 10 miles or so.
If you don't have dual chargers, contact your service center and get it installed before your trip. Will save you a lot of time.
I would suggest stopping at the DoubleTree by Hilton Binghamton, and having lunch at their Bistro. They have a HPWC available for guests, so if you are there for lunch, you are their guest.
This is the part where I clear my throat and ask yet again... I can get to Miami. I can get to LA. But I cannot get to State College, PA. Mr. Musk, could you please fix that soon?
