Does anyone have any idea why I received a refund check in the amount of $294.00? There was no explanation on the stub. Purchased a new 100D on 12/23/18. Thanks in advance.
Delay in AP functionality.
@Mathew98 - Purchasing a car in Dec 2018 would not result in a check from Tesla. It was for people who purchased starting in late 2016 when HW2 autopilot came out.
@Pfullen.rn - Did you have a Tesla before? If so then that might explain it.
Probably over paid tax and registration fees.
But this falls into the "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth!" area.
I think @Bighorn is correct. I got a refund too for a Model S delivered in December. If I recall correctly, I also received a refund after buying my previous Model S. No explanation on the check stub.
Thank you, I did have a 2916 Model S, which was a lease. I turned it in when I purchased my 100D
What Bighorn said.
I got $1400 in my check (MX, 100D). No explanation, kind of a large error.
I didn't get a check at all! Is this a problem?
@Silver2K I expect you'll be billed for $1400 + $294.
I overpaid about $150 when I brought a cashiers check to pickup the car due to slight differences in their projected and final costs. I haven't seen a refund yet so I assumed I just donated it to the Tesla cause. The car is worth so much more than I paid for it. LOVE IT!
Confirming Bighorn's analysis. I took delivery of a CPO in August; registration was due in December. I sent $423 to DMV, and about a month later received a check from Tesla for the same amount.
