Judging from how the wheelbase is stretched out in the model 3, it can have a pretty high trailer tongue weight because there isn't that much of a rear overhang. Of course it would need some rear structural reinforcements but that could be offered as part of a "towing option" just like the model S gets extra reinforced when equipped with rear facing seats. It would also need the air suspension option. We know the Model 3 will be able to tow because Elon said so on twitter so hopefully they are already thinking about utilizing this to the max.
Another amazing idea is to introduce an electric motor powered trailer or just create a Tesla industry standard that aftermarket manufacturers could build. With electric torque vectoring and regen braking you could in theory tow as much weight as the trailer can take regardless of the car weight. You could save customers tons of $$ by not having to buy a dedicated truck to tow a boat or a project car.
