Winter wheel configuration for P85D

Winter wheel configuration for P85D

Last year I drove my P85D with it's performance tires in the snow. It actually worked, but it wasn't great and so this year I'd like to get winter wheels/tires.

Since the car was pretty driveable last year, I'd like to still use the 21" wheels/tires (tires Pirelli Winter Sottorzero 3), as I like the look of those a lot more than 19". The tire company has recommended that I don't use the staggered configuration for this, and I'm curious as to what people here think about that recommendation also.

Thanks for any pointers!

Narrower is better for cutting through snow. 19" is superior unless snow is just a vague threat and potholes never materialize.

@bighorn

Thanks, so it sounds like you are saying not having staggered tires would be ok in any configuration. Appreciate your feedback.

True--having wide rear wheels would be a recipe for oversteer/rear end slides. You'll have to decide whether you use your staggered rims with narrow winter tires or buy a separate set of winter rims that are all the same 8.5 inch width.
