Attended the rally in San Mateo this afternoon.
It began small but within an hour there were +/-200 people.
LOTS of kids! Lots of support from the drivers (It was on a busy El Camino x 3rd).
Even a motorcycle drove by & revved his engine real loud. In support. I guess.?? :-p
One of the group representatives told me they’re there every Saturday!
Joining forces with people across the world, thousands of Bay Area students and others took to the streets Friday for a global climate strike aimed at raising awareness about climate change and to put pressure on leaders ahead of next week's U.N. Climate Action Summit.
The inspiration behind Friday's strike comes from Swedish 16-year-old Greta Thunberg, who single-handedly protested outside of parliament, demanding that lawmakers in her country treat climate change as a top priority.
