Norwegian deliveries

Norwegian deliveries

I reserved my P85 #2145 on 27. December. Yesterday I decided to sign up for the Signature wait list. The Signatures are all gone of course but I thought that maybe enough defers to open for a chance. The eternal optimist. Of course, TM UK office confirmed the wait list is long, but that I am on it.
Curious about when they expect deliveries will start in Norway, especially now that production is cranked up. I was told for now they plan 12 months from my reservation date. That means maybe for Christmas. Bummer!

Anyone else with info about Europe arrivals?

Brian H | 18 juli 2013

I wonder if TM is using a big cheap slowboat or a fleet of wave-skimming hovercraft and hydofoil tankers. ;)

Brian H | 18 juli 2013

typo: and hydrofoil

Car-El | 19 juli 2013

If they box in 4 cars, I will tip on a Maersk boat.
It can be short of space in one boat... HA-HA!

krissu | 19 juli 2013

Tesla cars are not shipped on ferry on fossil fuel. They use sailing cargo ferries moving on wind power. As wind direction is not favourable, Norwegian deliveries are late!

GeirT | 19 juli 2013

... in the doldrums?

hsadler | 19 juli 2013

@Brian H

'Hydofoil' - the new stealth transport vehicle.

lygren | 19 juli 2013

Mine is now also "under production". Although I´m a general production customer, I´ve been waiting for three years or so (registered in the US first, then moved it over to Norway when that became possible) - thus I have to say I´m quite fine with Signature-people having to wait longer than me although they have put down a little more than I have... ;) Delivery in late August is indicated, I´d guess mid Sept. is more likely... ;)

@ Julius,North Norway

Im so sorry for putting my vin number on you res number in the google document. Was a bit quick there. I removed it again and put it in the right place.

Hope i didnt confuse you ;-)

Captain_Zap | 19 juli 2013

Wow. It looks like things are hitting a fever pitch in the EU. It reminds me of our experience while waiting for our Signatures a year ago.

If someone can find out the name of the ship carrying the cars you can track your car via AIS (Automatic Identification System).

The web page is

I am so excited for you!

Benz | 19 juli 2013

Maybe it's possible to find out which vessels have left San Francisco early July AND were going to Norway?

HaraldH | 19 juli 2013

Not San Francisco, they go from the East Coast by ship.

Benz | 20 juli 2013

Do you know which city on the East Coast?

lygren | 20 juli 2013

Vessel from NY to OSL would normally take less than 2 weeks, I have ordered several containers from Miami to OSL via Amsterdam, and even then the container arrived within 2 weeks...

CalDreamin | 20 juli 2013

I saw Sig Red Model S destined for Europe on the production line during a Fremont factory tour in late June. I love my white Model S, and I think the car looks great in any of the available colors. But that Sig Red is stunning -- well worth the wait!

Hijan | 20 juli 2013

Do they send the cars from CA to the East Coast on freight trains?
Which company (ies)?
From which City/Harbour at the East Coast?
Name of Shipping company(ies)?
Vessel names ?
Wanna start tracking....

P85 please come to me SOON :-)

Notre | 21 juli 2013

Sig reservation holders report call from Tesla confirming delivery Aug. 14th.

Benz | 21 juli 2013

Will they organise an event on August 14th for the first deliveries?

Car-El | 21 juli 2013

WHAT! H _ _ _! :(((((((

(Just kidding, no harm!)

Benz | 22 juli 2013

No ship in sight yet?

Benz | 22 juli 2013

It should not take more than 2 weeks from now, for the ship to arrive in Drammen, Norway.

Benz | 23 juli 2013

Will there be arriving a ship with Tesla Model S EV's on a monthly basis in Drammen, Norway?

janbylund | 23 juli 2013

I orderd my Model S in February and in april they said I was going to get the car in sept-okt. I have the number P2879.

I got a mail from Tesla today and now the car is arriving to trondheim/norway in november
I'm not happy abot it :-(

But the positive thing is I'm going to be very happy in november :-)

Jolinar | 23 juli 2013

is that your 1st delay? we already had 5 or so delays and 4 years of waiting :-) get used to it...

Car-El | 23 juli 2013

"My boat is loaded with...."

I am starting to regret that I order a Model S!
Then I be sorry that I regret....
OOooh! this pain!

I feel real sorry for you folks that have waited up to 3 or 4 years....

John56 | 23 juli 2013

When I was at Teslive recently I took the factory tour and saw LOTS of cars identified as heading for Norway. All of the VIN numbers I saw were between 15000-16000. And as I recall all that I saw had bumper sensors installed.

GeirT | 23 juli 2013

I had to get a Tesla infusion and dropped by the Tesla store in Oslo yesterday. I tried to pry out of the very nice people there, the deliveries but mum was the word. Not even the confirmed mid-August for some was acknowledged. So, discipline is well preserved. As I only have the parts sourcing to go by I shall continue to expect mine by Sep/Oct.
By the way, it was confirmed that the SuperChargers shall be all in place by the time the cars arrives. It was not confirmed how many of the 7 though.
The display model was the dark grey with the grey rims, black interior. A beauty. I was starting to regret until I saw the blue outside. I am all good :-)

SignatureNorway | 23 juli 2013

I got a phonecall today about delivery. Got one last week also, but today I was told the I will get my car in Oslo at the 7'th of August. What a joy!!

merijn | 23 juli 2013

@SignatureNorway That sounds great! What is your signature reservation number? And what is your VIN?

arnebjarne | 23 juli 2013

Sig #423 delivery 14-22 of August. All is well.

SignatureNorway | 23 juli 2013

@merijin I have signature #280. But I seen (norwegian forum) that lower signature numbers have later delivery, maybe because they didn't finelize at once as I did..

HaraldH | 24 juli 2013

Tlf. call from Tesla Norway today, delivery mid aug. EU S 76,

Benz | 25 juli 2013

MagnusHamnesSalbu | 25 juli 2013

Will it be possible afterwards to find out which ship delivered the first shipment of Tesla Model S EV's to Norway?

Hijan | 26 juli 2013

@benz Some Tesla-lovers inn Drammen must know this... Then it would be easier to track eg. Høegh carriers heading for Drammen, starting somewhere at the East coast

You guys sound really excited. I love this! Maybe the Norwegian navy could be persuaded to help look. Is there a Norwegian navy?

Benz | 26 juli 2013

@ Notre

Your 2nd and 3rd links result in a totally white page, there is nothing there to be seen. Is that correct? | 26 juli 2013

Hi guys. So in the lack of a dedicated Norwegian forum - I've created one! (

It's completely free to use and I hope people can make it the place to be if you're Norwegian and own (plan to or just curious on) a Tesla vehicle.

I most certainly don't want to steal the attention from this official site here at Tesla Motors, but I think we need a Norwegian forum to be able to share and give each other insight in our native language.

I'm looking for moderators as I'm personally too busy with other things. So sign up and give me a PM if you think you are a worthy candidate.

Remember: This site will be community-driven and by you. So the more people who join and start using it - the more everyone can start finding relevant information around Tesla and their vehicles.

There is indeed a Norweigan Navy!

davidg11 | 26 juli 2013

To track all ships going to and from Norway, use AIS

It shows where ships are in real time.

Notre | 26 juli 2013

Sorry for that Benz. Worked earlier.

The people who work at the Tesla store in Oslo should be informed about the date of arrival of the first shipment of Tesla Model S EV's in Norway, by now. First week of August 2013?

Notre | 27 juli 2013

Not sure what's the point in stalking these vessels, but the "Karin Schepers" is a container vessel en route from Rotterdam to Drammen with scheduled arrival tomorrow at 8 pm. Possible candidate?

Notre | 27 juli 2013

According to rumors a few Signatures will be delivered as early as Aug. 7th coinciding with the Q2 presentation.

Benz | 27 juli 2013

@ Notre

The first shipment of Tesla Model S EV's would be shipped directly from the US to Norway.
