Specs for Australia will be different from those for North America. It is likely that cars here will be far more highly specced than standard in the USA. This, to some extent will apply to Europe as well. The roadster here is released with about $20000 worth of equipment which was not standard in the USA car. This is because Australians normally expect their cars to be at higher spec levels as standard. (True). Also, generally our choices are more limited than USA.
The interior of the S is designed to be relatively easy to change, so that in the future, if one tires say, of cloth interior it can be relatively easy to upgrade to leather trim and different accent panels. This is vastly different to every other car on the market, and is the first bit of real NEWS i have heard in quite a while! The S, in essence is expected to be a car that people will keep for far longer than the usual ICE vehicle, where many change their cars every 3 or 4 years (in Australia, this is the usual lease term). Since drivetrain will likely never need upgrading, and the exterior design is a classic along the lines of say Jaguar or Porsche, whose shapes never really seem to date, really, the only reasons to change cars would be the interior or battery capacity. The latter has already been discussed at length, and it seems that new technology will eventually fitted to the same form factor.
Deliveries of right hand drive vehicles are likely to be at more or less the same time as Europe, that is once the USA "backlog" is made manageable. After all, to make a right hand drive vehicle is just a different dash and front axle. One of the major benefits of the skateboard.
Further, it is likely that other interior colours will become available once general production settles in.
Furthermore, he tells me the company is NOT set in stone. If say 3000+ people want saddle leather or a centre console or door pockets, it likely will be made available. So folks, start writing!!
He also tells me that air suspension is fantastic and an option well worth having simply for ride quality, if nothing else, but of course there are other benefits as well, such as loading height adjustment, steep driveways and of course aerodynamically at highway speeds.
As surmised elsewhere, design studio should be up within the next day or so.
