Tesla Model S in the UK

Just wondering when we in the UK will start seing some Model S on our roads. It is a bit dissapointing that our other european neighbours, Belguim, Norway and even Spain (in terrible financial crisis) have started to see the Model S on their public roads and can go for test drives.

Could it be because of the right-hand drive conversion that is proving to be the obstacle?

I, being a Londoner, can see the tesla model s being a hit here, as there is a lot of government incentives to buy electic cars.

You will think Elon will prioritise the UK first, due to his fondness for a certain british lady he has an affiliation with :) .

Please hurry up as we are patiently waiting, but do not know for how much longer.

It's not just a matter of switching the steering column. Remember, the touchscreen is built into the dash, and faces the driver. That whole assembly has to change.

A naive engineer would just lay the plans on a light table upside down and turn the back light on ;-)

Actually I'm in the UK and am a little envious of the LHD models - they get to use their right hand to operate the touch panel; we'll need to use our left hand.

Does anyone know if the software will also be modified to reflect the layout of the onscreen buttons, etc?
I presume care has been taken to place the more commonly used functions closer to the driver, and this would be reversed in a RHD model contradicting all those design considerations.

Or is the screen angled sufficiently to not matter? (It's difficult to see in online videos)

Last I heard, right-hand-drive was planned to be available in spring of 2014. Maybe in March?
