Does auto-pilot avoid cactus

If this was a Tesla, would it have avoided this:

#1 Reason for getting Auto-pilot:

It detects and avoids Cactus

"He walked away without a prick."

Is that necessarily a good thing?

Interesting that "unharmed" could mean "barely injured" and "only minor injuries".

How does one drive into a cactus at that angle?!

To the OP:
Tesla autopilot might have kept the drunk on the road instead of where the cactii grow.
From my experience with cactii: I'm predicting that the cactus was sitting still, where it belonged. Not so much the car driver.

Watch out for jumping cactus. ;-)

I'm guessing that the driver was following his buddy's pickup after a night out tipping cacti. They had captured one of the beasts and were taking it to show some friends when it escaped and unfortunately dove into the car following the truck. So sad.

Oh, and by the way, they all had little pricks.

LOL!!!!!! I saw the article this morning. Happy the guy got away with just minor injuries. Busted car and the. Gets arrested. Oh well.

I guess we're stuck hearing about prickly pears.

I probably would have other things to worry about if my car needed to avoid a cactus . . . Like the cops breathalyzing me . . . JMO
