Video: Pat Robertson blames the Vegas shooting on disrespect for Trump, God, and the National Anthem

https://twitter.com/ChristnNitemare/status/914919689955966976

I wanted to add some context from comments below. Perhaps Pat's words might be vague. So I looked online and found this article from 2013.

I'll summarize and provide the link.

1) Men with “rebellious” wives should live where wife-beating is legal.
2) You should cast demons out of secondhand clothes you buy, lest their previous owner’s evil infect you.
3) God punishes people for having too much education.
4) Women just discovered porn, and quite possibly sex.
5) Beware “scamsters in religious garb.”
6) The government is gearing up to round up Americans for unspecified reasons.
7) Abortion is a lesbian conspiracy.
8) Atheists are trying to steal Christmas to make you miserable.
9) The earthquake punished Haitians for overthrowing slavery.
10) Divorce is wrong unless your wife gets sick.

Lulz.

There is a Taliban here too. They just don't know they are the American Taliban yet.

SCCRENDO | 02. oktober 2017

These people are all loons. Time to impeach the buffoon in chief and then vote out the spineless Republican congress. We need to return to rational leadership. I failed to hear Trump use the words “Radical white fascist Terrorism”. Time to take away their guns and deport them to wherever white fascists come from and then build a wall so they cannot come torment us illegally.

RedShift | 02. oktober 2017

@sccrendo

That's going to be much harder to do. Basically one section of America have made up their minds not to trust the democrats (or many republicans for that matter). They won't come to their senses unless something drastic happens. Basically they ignore anything bad bout Trump. They have thrown all sense of logic and caution to the wind, this is like their Hail Mary pass.

<< These people are all loons. Time to impeach the buffoon in chief and then vote out the spineless Republican congress. We need to return to rational leadership. ... Time to take away their guns and deport them ... >>

The "WE" in your delirious gibberish seems to be the fascist Left, such as ANTIFA, which proclaims masks, baseball bats, and violence as rational tools of the political discourse, like its campaign against freedom of speech, which has included beatings, property damage, and calls to cop killings.

Your anti-American propensities have now drifted into sheer sedition and terrorist threats.

Captain_Zap | 02. oktober 2017

That's just crazy talk.

RedShift | 03. oktober 2017

@zap

No, it's just a mocking bird ranting at night. No one is listening, but that dies not stop the ranting.

SamO | 03. oktober 2017

So according to Pat Robertson, if we impeach the President, we will stop these mass shootings?

And one other question: Did Drumpf's disrespect for Obama cause Sandy Hook?

Add it to the articles of impeachment :-)

SCCRENDO | 03. oktober 2017

@@Remnant. The “we” refers to all sane compasssionate individual who care about the future of this country. You should take a knee.

MitchP85D | 03. oktober 2017

Some self-destructive people try to take as many with them as possible. What goes on in between the ears of a self-destructive human is by far more damaging than the tools they use.

Yesterday, I couldn't help but think that if Chris Kyle were alive and in Vegas two nights ago, he would have taken Paddock out within 5 minutes!

Captain_Zap | 03. oktober 2017

I always understood that taking a knee is a gesture of great respect. I don't get all the hullabaloo.

KP in NPT | 03. oktober 2017

The sad thing is people actually listen to this whack job. And sorry, but if anyone thinks any God operates by making man rain bullets down on innocent people as "punishment" for anything, then maybe it's time to find a new one.

The perversion of Christianity by evangelicals is pathetic.

SamO | 03. oktober 2017

I'm reminded of the quote by Gandhi: “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

SCCRENDO | 03. oktober 2017

@Welfare_Mitch. Of course if Chris Kyle was there in the room with him things would have been different. Of course if my grandmother had testicles she would have been my grandmother. So in the interim let's tighten up on our gun control laws so every nut job does not get to carry his own arsenal around. Looks like Trump has not blamed this on radical Islamic terrorists yet and banned a few more hundred million people from entering the US

SCCRENDO | 03. oktober 2017

Of course if my grandmother had testicles she would have been my grandfather

sabbia | 03. oktober 2017

Hard to understand this "punishment" thing. Surely there were some good people in the crowd. According and Robertson and probably @Remnant, they are now in heaven.

Surely, there were some bad people in that crowd. According to Robertson and probably @Remnant, they are now in hell where they would have gone anyway.

How is any of this "punishment"?

rxlawdude | 03. oktober 2017

"Of course if my grandmother had testicles she would have been my grandfather."

Derivative of my Brooklyn Dad's line: "But for the word IF. If a bull had tits it would be a cow. But for the word IF."

MitchP85D | 03. oktober 2017

As it pertains to you Captain Planet; grandmother, grandfather, what difference does it make?!!

SCCRENDO | 03. oktober 2017

@Welfare_Mitch. Not that simple man. You have to give plenty of hormones to make those changes. But it can be done. Perhaps I should have stated it differently for Welfare_Mitch. How about “If I gave my grandmother testosterone she would be my grandfather”. But there is no chance Trump would pay for it. No welfare cheese for me.

<< [Video Title:] Pat Robertson blames the Vegas shooting on disrespect for Trump, God, and the National Anthem ... [OP Title] Where are the condemnations for this radical cleric? >>

The usual fascist–socialist–anti-religious–anti-christian–antisemitic chorus of this thread (SamO, RedShift, SCCRENDO, Captain_Zap, KP in NPT, rxlawdude) have joined their atrocious cacophonies into the biggest insult and obscenity they could fathom, mocking a man of faith for his reminder to a bereaved and grieving nation that we need to revive our connectedness to our God, tradition, values, and heroes and that failure to do so might and may already have grievously hurt us.

The contorted, ugly, and toxic souls that have earned membership in this chorus have virtually no ability to grasp the scope and magnitude of their offenses. My hope is that the readers of this post will pity them and pray for them.

+1000 Nailed it! I always wondered how certain christian societies could rationalize wars, hatred and divisiveness if they truly followed Christ's teachings. Or does the new testament have some sort of terms and conditions i'm not aware of?

sabbia | 04. oktober 2017

Still don't get t his "punishment" stuff. How am I punished if my ticket to heaven is moved up?

socaldave | 04. oktober 2017

@Remnant - you mean The Flying Spaghetti Monster, right?

RedShift | 04. oktober 2017

There is no god. Like you demand in other threads about AGW: prove that god exists, otherwise, no one will listen to your nightly rants, mocking bird. :-)

Whose god? Yours? You implied that with “our”. What beliefs does your religion?? share with the Torah or the Koran". Probably more than you think, as it is written.

Your God is different than mine. Your tradition is likely different than mine. Your “values” are likely different than mine, unless you live by the Golden Rule - do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Pick your own heroes, semantically null.

SCCRENDO | 05. oktober 2017

@Remant. Please explain how a senile old evangelists blaming those who disrespect Trump as a cause for the Vegas shootings remind us of our connectedness to God.

Be my guest to the cornucopia of choices our God has provided for all earthlings, including yourself and sundry beings at all levels of existence, even devil worshipers. Just make sure you understand everyone will be held accountable at some point.

But if you've decided to confess that your god is different from mine, well ... what can I do? Just knock yourself out and ... rejoice all you can, before the fires of down below get to surround you from all sides!

@SCCRENDO (October 5, 2017)

<< Please explain how a senile old evangelists blaming those who disrespect Trump as a cause for the Vegas shootings remind us of our connectedness to God. >>

That's what a free country looks like, old fart. Even you, a senile old quack, have been allowed to cast fake news and blame AGW and its contrarians of the fires of Hell hidden between the wrinkles of our allegedly cursed future.

As mentioned above, I must blame you and your AGW worshipers of mocking a man of faith for his reminder to a bereaved and grieving nation that we need to revive our connectedness to our God, tradition, values, and heroes and that failure to do so might and may already have grievously hurt us.

You see, blame is easy, most of all when it's directed at hypocrites and fraudsters of the AGW worshiping or Trump Denial Psychosis variety.

SCCRENDO | 06. oktober 2017

@Remnant. No we do not blame AGW on Hell. It’s just plain fossil fuels producing CO2 increasing the greenhouse layer and causing global warming. Although come to think about via. Is it possible that the devil uses greenhouse gases to heat up hell??

Your so-called man of faith is just a senile old coot who needs to get back onto his medications.
Also there is no Trump Denial Psychosis. What you have is denial of Trump’s psychosis.

sabbia | 06. oktober 2017

Anyone up to answering my question about how is getting to heaven quicker a "Punishment" in Remnant's terms?

To put it in Teslarian terms, if I get my Model 3 this year, will I consider myself punished?

SCCRENDO | 06. oktober 2017

@Sabbia. Getting into Remnants mind is a real challenge. I guess you have to try let him answer for himself. There is no doubt that he is intellectually challenged so even if he does answer, his answer may not make that much sense. You have to ask yourself the meaning of Remnant. @rxlawdude thinks it is carpet scrap. I am going with brain scrap.

Im just waiting for them to announce what political party the guy in Vegas belonged to so that the other party can start saying that everyone who belongs to his party is either a racist right winger or a antiAmerican left winger. Why does everything have to turn into a political battle?

rxlawdude | 06. oktober 2017

"Why does everything have to turn into a political battle?"

Because compromise is a dirty word. Because party over country is the orthodoxy of the day. Because conscience over party gets you primaried.

Remnant | 07. oktober 2017

@Tesla2018 (October 6, 2017)

<< [I'm] just waiting for them to announce what political party the guy in Vegas belonged to ... >>

ISIS has claimed credit for the LV massacre. It sounds like Paddock was an ISIS hack.

All he needed for the job was to be a high stakes gambler, which he was. No conscience, no loyalties.

Remnant | 07. oktober 2017

@Tesla2018 (October 6, 2017)

If one reflects on possible preventive measures, why, for heaven's sake, did that huge open Mandalay Bay Hotel spectator space not have a protective roof over it? Some Hotel guests even complained of the concert noise.

A roof is all it would have taken to protect the spectators against both wet and bullet rains. Was there a competing reason against it?

SCCRENDO | 07. oktober 2017

@Remnant. Because people want to live in a free open country not one enclosed by walls and roofs. Some sort of enclosures and restrictions may be necessary because of the reality of our world. But how about beginning with gun control. No man is entitled to his own arsenal. How about improving our medical coverage to allow free access to mental health care? To blame ISIS would be a typical response from your ilk. Perhaps we need to ban a few more million Muslims and Mexicans from entering the US???? This guy likely had mental health issues. While we as yet do not know his motive many would suggest he is more likely to be a redneck terrorist, than an ISIS terrorist, perhaps one even associated with the neo-nazis who you and Trump support? This guy looks closer to Timothy McVeigh than ISIS.

BozieB | 08. oktober 2017

In today's world, it all comes down to simple truths.
It is easier to tear down than build.
ergo, Tesla Shorters, North Korea leaders, Man's definition of what God really wants, ect,
If something bothers you enough to want to change, by all means, do so.
Can you see the participants on Ted Talks, advocating 'Change', by ranting such rhetoric?
Build, Educate and Teach how to Build

SCCRENDO | 08. oktober 2017

As children grow up and develop their first instinct is to break down, take apart and destroy. As they mature they learn to preserve their possessions and build.

Homebrook | 08. oktober 2017

@ SamO I listened to your link to Pat Robertson's comments. I carry no water for Pat Robertson, although I am a Christian, but you misrepresented what he said. Robertson did not assert there was a cause effect link between disrespect for Trump, God, and the National Anthem, not at all, rather he said that the Las Vegas shooting had to do with a general loss of respect for the law, a breakdown in our civil society. He cited the violence in the streets, rampant disrespect for authority, and a profound disrespect for our president. He added to these the disrespect being shown to our National Anthem, to veterans and the institutions of our national government and to our court system. He basically claims that when you lose that kind of respect for civil authority and lose a controlling authority things come unraveled. As a Christian he rightly asserts that the basis for governmental and civil authority is the Bible. That basis is obviously being lost. He is claiming that that loss has consequences. The Las Vegas shooting is a simply a symptom of an ongoing breakdown of our society. There are many things with which I disagree with Pat Robertson, but I do not disagree with what he said in the clip you referenced.
You called him a radical, who needed to be condemned. It is not Pat that is a radical, it is you in making such a statement.
If Pat is a radical, then the majority of the country is radical, which is absurd.
You may disagree with Pat. That is your right and privilege, but you do not have the privilege to mischaracterize and demonize those with whom you disagree. I would expect more from any fair-minded and clear-thinking individual.

SCCRENDO | 08. oktober 2017

@Homebrook. We don’t know what the killer’s motives were but Pat Robertson was not even close. So now we need to blame the football players who kneeled for the flag? Many would suggest it was the idiot President who stirred up the pot who would be more responsible for any civil unrest. Perhaps we should start looking at gun control and treatment of mental illness rather then believing anything that comes out of Pat Robertson’s mouth.
